Art's Washer & Dryer

"Called on an evening and spoke with nice lady on the phone, provided my information and what was wrong with our dryer. Art, the owner, arrived at the wrong house number (assuming the gal on the phone couldn’t hear clearly) and I immediately correct him when he called and clarified our address. When he arrived he just walked straight into my basement, never introduced himself or asked where the dryer was. I explained my husband had removed the front and top panel just to look at the dryer on the phone. Clearly, Art was not aware of that. As he STORMED out of my home. Literally got so angry when he saw the dryer, asked me “why husbands do this” and was clearly upset. I apologized for the confusion, asked if he’d like me to have it put back together (my husbands an engineer) and we’d be happy to pay to have him come back out. He said it’d be a waste of his time. Asked if we wanted to buy a belt (husband assumed that was the problem) when I called my husband to ask- Art refused to speak to him, walked out of my home, got in his car and left. So yeah, that was my experience. I’ve never been treated that way, in my own home, in my entire life. Clearly, he couldn’t work on the dryer that way and was upset about it. I understand he was frustrated but he was SO unprofessional and inappropriate."

"Reliable and honest. I called to see when he could repair my elderly mother's 20 year old washing machine. He came out the same day, gave a thorough inspection and said the transmission was shot and it wouldn't be worth fixing. Then he would not charge her - not even a service charge!. I checked an appliance part website to see what a new transmission would cost for this washer, and found that it was $481. Yikes. We bought a new washer for about the same price.
