"I lived at Spruce Manor for 7 years and it was the worst experience of my life. I was stuck there and couldn't afford to move and when I finally did, I was delighted. I'm not going to go over all the nastiness about this place, but I will highlight a couple things any prospective tenants should be aware of. 1. In the lease, they say that you are responsible for A/C unit repairs. When I questioned that before signing, I was told that they did repair the units. Mine broke after 2 weeks and it stayed broken for over 3 years. 2. When you leave, they tell you they will charge a fee to repaint the apartment, even though landlords in NJ are required to paint between tenants. I fought that and won. 3. When you get your security deposit back, they do not give you interest. They are required to put your security deposit in an interest-bearing escrow account, and they are required to give you that interest. It's not their property, and I think many of their tenants aren't aware of that. So they steal money from people who live there. I fought that and won, too. Even if you're broke (I was!) keep looking! Bellmawr Manor and Hyde Park are better."
