"Dr. Cartwright is the worst psychiatrist I have ever encountered. Two of my children were seen by her and on one occasion she made a comment: “ oh so you think you’re flashy coming up in here with your Gucci this and Jordan that. Tell me do you work? I’ve worked with many smart Korean kids your age and if you don’t get it together you’ll be working for one of them and they’ll be telling you what to do.” I was appalled and speechless, however I managed to address it. She assumed my child was one way based off his appearance/demeanor until I shared that he was an honor roll student with anxiety and his father and I had no issues with what he wears. Months later I decided to take my second child in for an evaluation because he was experiencing extreme behavior issues in school and she blamed it on his father and said, in front of my son, “he’s probably wondering why you picked him to be his father and not someone else” — this haunted me for years because I couldn’t believe she said this in front of my son. Although he may have felt this way or had issues with his father, it wasn’t her place to say it or plant the seed in his head. It made me wonder what was being said without my presence???? Saying all this to say- she’s totally insensitive and disconnected with her patients in every way. Her staff is pleasant and helpful, but she should really consider entertaining another profession."
