"Love the practice if you can ever actually get in to see a doctor. You have to call right when the office opens to be able to get a sick appointment the same day. Good luck getting your child an appt if they start showing symptoms of being sick after 10 AM. My child started getting sick at like 830 and when I called at 845 they said there were no appointments available for the rest of the day even though I called at 8:45 and told me to go to the ER. What is the point of having a pediatrician if I’m told to just go to the ER when my child is sick? All the providers are nice but the people that answer the phone have no empathy and are not very kind. We will be looking for a new practice - one where we can actually get appointment when needed. Ridiculous"

"My kids have been coming here since 2009 (office was called Parnes, May, McKay, Lee & Associates then) when my oldest was a newborn & these reviews are unfair. The Drs & staff are very knowledgeable, professional & efficient. We came for Dr. Lee who is great (moved on bcos it was difficult to get an appt with her as she was always in high demand) & stayed for Dr. Mailander who is incredible. I've never had any issues; all my concerns/requests are addressed satisfactorily & in a timely fashion. Dr. Mailander is also very thorough, has superior bedside manners & genuinely cares about her patients & their families."

"Bringing our two children for the first time (2 months &18 months) today. Our first impression is not very good. I’ll update my review once it’s earned. We walk in 15 minutes early to fill out new paperwork. We are the only ones in the waiting area. We are told the Dr is running behind and asked us to wait in the car until they call us. Kids are impatient and sitting in a car for 30 minutes to a kid seems like hours. Their Covid policy does not allow for patients when there are kids unmasked in the office from what I gather. The waiting room is empty which is large enough to accommodate social distancing. I asked if this was posted in the office or on their website, reception said it was on their website. Nothing is posted on their website regarding this policy. This was the type of policy and procedures back in 2020, before any education or vaccinations. Let’s hope they have service, empathy, and great medical advice/treatment."

"My husband and I have been extremely pleased with Howard County Pediatrics. I haven’t had a single bad experience the many times I’ve been there. I’ve also always been able to get my daughter in to be seen when she was sick (almost always the day of.) The doctors are very knowledgeable, the nurses are very helpful, and staff are always responsive."

"If I could rate this office a zero, I would. I was referred to this practice by the hospital where I had my baby. Honestly, there has been so much turnover with Providers and the only consistent Provider has been Dr.McKay who is why I have been there this long. Unfortunately Dr. McKay is very hard to get an appointment with due to the fact that he is one of the best Providers there. All 4 of my children have been seen at this practice. The service has been going downhill for some time now. I have thought about pulling my kids from this practice years ago, but felt like the kids were fairly healthy and they were being seen only on an annual basis. The office refused to vaccinate my then 5 year old by the many Providers before school began due to schedule conflicts. They made no attempts to fit my son in because there were specific days for vaccinations. This almost delayed him from going to school on time. Fortunately, he was able to get the vaccination from Howard county. Fast forward to why I am taking time out of my busy day to write this review.. I am so highly upset today because I tried to call the office to set up annual appointments for all 4 kids, but was told they could not find the kids in their system. Eventually they were able to locate one of my kids. The receptionist stated we were taken to collections and she could not provide any specific information that I needed to follow up with the billing person. Today we called billing and were told the reason we were not found in the system was because they are no longer able to provide services to my kids due to bills not covered by the insurance. This is so upsetting during this period of Covid. If anything it shows the lack of concern for people. To say bills were mailed to me is not an acceptable way of dealing with customers. I was told by the practice today that, due to unpaid balance, they no longer want the kids. They did not give me an opportunity to pay the balance or give me any options. I was told Now we have to waste additional time getting all 4 kids medical information transferred to a different Pediatrician's office which is probably the best decision anyways. This was handled very poorly in my opinion..if you are looking for a Pediatrician office, look elsewhere!!!!!!"
