Highland House Tower by Albion

"One of the worst places to rent ever. AC/Heating unit in the apartments makes so much noise that two people standing 6 feet apartment can't talk to each other. Management is one of the worst - they are impolite, unresponsive and dismiss issues without even looking into it. Billing is random - you will be charged for all sort of things in the name of utilities without any specific details. People will work in your reserve spot and you can't do a damn thing about it. You will be given few hours of notice to move your vehicles during working day because they need to get some work done. Underground parking has leaks all over the place. Pets pee in the elevator and no cleaning is done for days. What drew us to it was the location, spacious apartments but then broke the lease after 2 months for the sake of our mental health."

"TL;DR - I would not recommend living here. The building renovations on the residential side are modern and clean. The views and layouts of the apartments are great. Highland Park is a wonderful neighborhood to live in. PRT drivers have access to the building to use bathrooms, and not all the exterior doors are kept locked. Not ideal if you're looking for a space with key carded security. We were. You WILL hear your neighbors. The walls are quite thin. We hear our neighbors raising and lowering their blinds, having casual conversation, tv, etc. Super fun when they decide to have a shouting match at all times of the day/night. The floors resonate like no other apartment building I've ever experienced. A heavy walker above you will cause vibrations that rattle your light fixtures and windows. The child / dog playing in the apartments above us create a ton of noise in our unit. Random banging and knocking is persistent in the units above us at all times of the day/night. There are supposed quiet hours (was a draw for us) but not really useful if all your neighbors aren't on the same page. We've submitted tons of complaints to management but they seem powerless to do anything about it. We run the HVAC fan, floor fan, and two phones with white noise FULL volume and it's not enough. Who knows what our neighbors are doing above us, but the amount of sound and vibration that comes through our ceiling at night makes the unit unlivable."

"We have loved living here. The apartments are very spacious with amazing views and in a great location. There are plenty of great events happening in the building for the residents to attend. The staff are very friendly and the building and facilities are always clean and well maintained."
