"I would have to disagree completely with everything "Sheila" wrote. My mother has lived here for almost ten years. I could not be any happier or feel more blessed to have such a wonderful place for her to live. There are rules, yes. This is housing where the residents pay around $200 to live in with a long waiting list. The residents that live there and their families should be thanking Sister Barb, and all that run that place that they are able to have such a clean, low income place to live that is safe and in the heart of Wexford. They run a tight ship to keep the place safe, and it has been home to my mother, a place where she met friends and was in a caring environment. My mother doesn't involve herself in drama, so maybe that is why I never heard anything negative from her. She kept to herself mostly, and enjoyed her tidy, sweet apartment, but also enjoyed the holiday get togethers and every years, she got tons of birthday cards under her door! Her needs were more than met with "extra" little perks, and kind gestures from the staff. If she needed anything at all, there was always someone to help. That is everything to her family. Grateful for Sister Barb and Alexis Manor! Thank you for everything you have done for my mother!"

"Christian Housing, Inc., the people who manage this facility, put on a good front but are ultimately only invested in controlling residents, so they manage by fear and threaten residents with eviction if they do not follow management's directives, even when those directives are against the law. For instance, 1) management tells residents who they should sit with and be friends with, regardless of the resident's preferences, and demands that residents adhere to management's decisions 2) management has refused to permit residents to have a legitimate tenant council that represents their rights, and has instead falsely promoted a fake organization that is run by bullies who also threaten and intimidate residents and file false incident reports against residents, which management accepts as truth without ever checking out the facts with the majority of residents, then management uses those false incident reports to threaten residents into compliance . . . and that's just the tip of the iceberg . . .residents at Alexis Manor are afraid to speak up for fear of retaliation by the bullies, and by management. I would not recommend Alexis Manor to anyone who wants to be treated like an adult, and be permitted to live in peace."
