"We lived in these apartments for 7 years and loved our time here. The community is amazing, lots of kids (there were over 20 kids in line for school bus in the mornings!). We made lots of friends and our kids always had someone to play with. Something to look out for is that we were charged $250 for cleaning when we moved out (among other charges). We were flying across country and our last day was very hectic but we still deep cleaned most of the house. We forgot to pull out the oven and fridge to clean under and behind them so the kitchen wasn’t perfectly clean and we were ready to pay. $250 is crazy though. If you don’t have time to deep clean every inch of the apartment I highly recommend hiring help - all cleaning ladies I used these 7 years charged $10-15/hour and even if you hire the fanciest cleaning company in Erie you won’t pay more than $100 for the apartment of this size. The pool was nice when we moved in but got worse over the years. The sprinklers broke and were never fixed. They hadn’t had any chairs or tables for 3 years since the pandemic, even in 2022 when all the restrictions were lifted and the pandemic seemed like an excuse. Older people of the community stopped using it because it became inconvenient. Also, although the pool isn’t guarded, it’s still “closed” before 11 am. There were a lot of residents that preferred using the pool before the sun got too active but the convenience the maintenance person that comes there at 10 or later was obviously a priority over the convenience of the residents. Our basement got flooded every winter, sometimes we’d have few inches of water there. Don’t keep anything on the floor. Also because of the humidity anything stored in the basement gets mold. The administration is quick to respond and fix the issues (and will bill you for most of it). They generally don’t renovate/update much, like the carpets are old and gross but they still have people wanting to rent here (Indian professionals that have friends in these apartments) so they bring new residents quickly and don’t spend money on keeping the place nice. Also when every other apartment complex offered discounts during the scary time in spring 2020 (when the pandemic started) they raised the rental fee in April 2020… Besides these issues we loved living here and it’s a perfect place for families with kids, they’ll have so many friends!"

"Baldwin Brothers bought out our townhouse complex a year ago and it is no longer taken care of. Neighbors had dying trees in front of house. In summer months overgrown weeds, grass etc. Don’t remove snow, take care of ice. All they care about is $$$$$. Have had to report them to the township multiple times for neglecting their properties."

"Baldwin Brothers Increase Rents during COVIS-19 Pandemic: When the community has come together to respond to the COVID-19 crisis, Baldwin Brothers have decided to stand out from the crowd. We hear everyday about unprecedented numbers of people losing their jobs, homes, and sources of income. We hear everyday about banks, companies, and local business giving back to the community, waiving fees, and doing their best to help fellow citizen pass through these difficult times. On the other hand, Baldwin Brothers sent notes to their tenants that there will be rent increases. How inhuman and greedy could that be for a company of their size. New renters, beware. This company has zero compassion and will charge you exorbitant amount at the earliest opportunity. Highly not recommended."

"You will NOT get your security deposit back. You will most likely owe them even more money, no matter what you do. We had the carpet professionally cleaned after furniture was moved out and were still charged an exorbitant amount for carpet cleaning. In their report, they included photos as evidence for their charges—photos that absolutely did not justify their grievances. We were grossly overcharged for every light bulb that wasn’t reinstalled throughout the house, including sockets in the attic and basement that didn’t even work. We took the oven door apart to clean inside and out, and were still charged for oven cleaning. We left the kitchen sink looking brand new, and were charged a cleaning fee for it as well. Bottom line: we left the house in far better condition than when we moved in, and still lost our deposit and were charged more on top of that. And the kicker? Weeks after we moved out, we finally received instructions delineating the requirements for move-outs, including ridiculous specificities such as “cabinets must be cleaned with Murphy Oil Soap.” A lot of help that was, after we’d already moved out. They were fine landlords during our stay, but the move-out soured us completely. If you can find another company to meet your housing needs, do so... do not choose Baldwin Brothers."
