"This store is a rare gem! I was visiting my daughter over Thanksgiving and the microwave died and of course my tools a miles away in VA. These folks had the torque bit I needed to remove the case and the time delay fuse needed for the repair. I didn't need to buy a kit of bits I didn't need or a package of 5 fuses I'd never use. Businesses with helpful, knowledgeable people close every day. This is one that certainly needs preservation. Very helpful and knew exactly what I was looking for."

"Called to ask if they had Baltic Birch and made it clear on the phone I needed B/BB (one faced without patches). After I was told that they had it, and was given a price, I detoured away from another lumber yard that was a little out of my way. I have purchased from the yard I detoured from before, so I know they have what I'm looking for, at roughly the same price. When I arrived at Mendham, I was told by the gentleman at the front that they only have BB/BB in stock, and while they could get B/BB, it would be $80+ more per sheet than I was originally quoted. By this time, the "other" lumberyard had closed for the weekend so I'm not able to get the plywood I really need to breakdown this weekend until next week. I purchase hundreds of sheets of Baltic Birch per year, and was really hoping to give my business to a more local business, but I won't be back."

"Not sure where the other reviews have gone, however I do not feel the same. Everyone in the place is friendly and helpful. This is an old fashioned hardware store with a small selection of items. Don't expect Home Depot, expect the local resources to help you as best they can. This is the type of place you visit when passing through to get a feel of what business was like before the big box stores. Great place and nice folks."
