"Here is a detailed experience of my encounter with Fighera and his staff. I was directed to his services through Military One Source for Marriage Counseling. When scheduling my first appt the Militar One Source representative asked do I need to show up early, his receptonist said no. Upon arrival, I was given 3 forms to fill out, which cut into my session time, due to me not showing early. During our session I was rudely insulted by Vincent when I began to explain why my husband and I seeked counseling. I am 9 months pregnant and while explaining my husbands short comings Vincent interrupted with a condescending smirk and ask if I have a picture of myself BEFORE my pregnancy, and he was 'curious what I looked like'. He also made a comment about me being a BBW, mind you I'm 9 MONTHS PREGNANT! He was completely out of line, After the session my husband told him that he did not appreciate the comments he made about my size. As it was not even remotely relevant to the reason we seeked Counseling. During the session I felt as if I was having to defend the relevance of our marital issues, Instead of him understanding OUR personal marital issues, he instead compared them to other senerios, stating 'people battle abuse, people die, people are poor' etc. As in stop complaining and be grateful. He was not a good listener and would interrupt us, to make some pessimistic generalization on the 2 sentences we had just said. He went on rants about things completely unrelated to our issues and spoke more than we did. I have done Counseling before and the first session should be a time for the client to give detailed history and air out the issues they want to work on, communication, intimacy, consistency etc. We were not able to effectively get our own vices out because Vincent was not focused on OUR issue at hand. We were looking for help and guidance to reconcile past issues and better our bond and communication before our first child arrives, but instead my size and "gratitude" was attacked and insulted. I have filled a compaint against him to Military One Source, and action will be taken for his insulting nature. He does not understand Military Family sacrifices, hard ships and their affects. And clearly lacks fundamental knowledge on how to help couples better the longevity of their Marriage and employ better more affective ways to communicate. He should not do marriage counseling."
"The office is a joke. I dont know Vincent Fighera personally, I have never met him. My husband saw him 1 time last night but since day 1 dealing with the support staff (mainly the woman who scheduled, confirms appointments and answers the telephone) has been the worst customer service experience ever. People that work customer service (especially the industry she does) should have compassion and understanding. Or at the very least be able to fake it and alter your tone of voice. From the very beginning, scheduling a appointment took more time and effort then it really should have. Once my husband arrived for the appointment and it took about an hour. During most of the visit, Vincent recommended that my husband see a substance abuse counselor. That is what we thought Vincent was since that is how he is listed on the Cigna website and that is what the front desk woman told us when scheduling. I called back today to request a itemized receipt from them to submit to my FSA (since they only take cash or check--in 2016??!?). The woman who answered the phone stated they could not fax the receipt to me today because she was too busy. I was completely shocked by this as it only take 2 minutes to send a fax. She stated she could mail me out a receipt tomorrow, told me "No, i couldnt stop by today to get a receipt " and that "she was not going to fax it". The office staff are horrible. I hope the doctor is not as bad as his staff but I will tell you that we are NOT coming back here and he should look into better staff if he wants to build his clientele."
