"TLDR: Mark Becker, who is the face is this place; is extremely rude & perpetuates a toxic treatment center culture for patients. Please reconsider coming here and protect yourself from gaslighting abuse. Its hard enough to have emotional issues to face but to also face those and be abused further while in treatment is just not worth it. If you are desperate for care: I am going to start out by listing some free resources If you are in the greater washington / DMV area and need community, guided practice into becoming more mindful and grounded with intense emotions are looking for kind energy held in safe spaces; Tara Brach author of radical compassion, has many meditation centers around the area and courses everyday that are FREE with really kind people and wont put you through a year long commitment of abuse. I felt really insecure after interfacing with mark and the way he spoke to me, after asking my therapist she said please run from this place but I was desperate for additional therapy so while i got into other resources around the area i decided to try it. I really regret my decision and wish the united states had additional resources so we could have safer spaces to head. About Mark; He mirrors many other treatment centers across the US that have a toxic administrative culture and abusive top down culture. By abusive I mean invalidating behaviors, bullying, belittling, forcing people versus creating safe containers for people to heal in. I've been coming to this practice for a while and I ignored the initial red flags just because I was desperate for treatment. His practice mirrors many others across the united states that perpetuate the very abuse that brings people into this type of treatment. If you can try to seek treatment elsewhere. There are many other free resources to practice at home or online, if you cant afford treatment out of pocket. Don't fall into this type of treatment just because it is one of a few places covered by insurance in the area. look at the other reviews on here and listen to them. for every person who speaks up there are 10 others who suffer in silence. He only has one other review one star on one other site and it doesn't seem like it comes from a real person who received treatment since they don't have any personal experience along with the review. Others in my group agreed and overtime we just all felt sad that there are such limited available resources that foster healing."
