Reviews
"Paid liar. Never interviewed myself nor my son but has some sort of expert opinion. Trash an unethical as the nichols Gelmann law firm that hired her"
"Very bad experience. Slammed the door in my face after my service was done. Flawed and biased practice. Take it from me...don't trust the smile (it's not sincere)! Very cold hearted!"
"Absolutely love Dr. Santoro! Went to her for a long time growing up and even though I wasn't super open or talkative about my issues or feelings, she was very patient and caring and understanding. She's very cool and approachable and I highly recommend her services. Can't wait to get back into therapy with her!"
"This psychologist is very unprofessional and does not think twice about violating ethical and professional standards and boundaries. Her behavior is not only damaging to her clients, but also to members in the community, including other professionals. I would highly discourage anyone from using Ms. Santoro's services. Do your homework and find a true professional, who abides by all laws and professional codes of ethics."
"As a mother, who woke up one day, to discover that my young son, my only child, had been taken from me by my ex., I fell apart. I spent months going to attorneys and therapists, crying myself to sleep, only to awaken to the gut wrenching pain of loss and despair. After 14 months, the courts allowed me to begin visits with my precious son, who was now 3 months short of turning 5 years old. My ex accused me of so many wrong doings, I started doubting my worth as a mother. I even doubted my worth as a human being. I remember receiving a call, while in my car one day. The message was simple and clear, and one that I was resistant to. The message was that I needed psychological help to assist me in dealing with what I had been through regarding the sudden loss of my son, and the litigation process that followed. I said no. I was done with professionals scrutinizing my life. After an exchange of words, I finally agreed to look into the matter. I am a researcher and I am also a nurse. I spent a week trying to find a competent psychotherapist who could help me begin to heal. There was one therapist that three different people recommended. Her name was Gina Santoro, Ph.D. (Board Certified Psychologist). I made an appointment, well aware that I was still suffering from being blindsided by my son’s disappearance. I had once been a confident mother. I sat in Dr. Santoto’s waiting room, feeling fragile, exhausted, and lacking confidence. And frankly, I was embarrassed that I had reached a point where I truly needed psychological help. I was also terrified that I was not strong enough to withstand a harsh therapist, who might unintentionally use her power to take away the little speck of self-confidence that I was clinging onto, as a mother. I met with Dr. Santoro weekly, for over a year. What took place during those sessions was transformational. I gained back the confidence that I needed, in order to mother my son in the way that I had once taken pride in. With Dr. Santoro’s help, I learned to let go of the shame that I had absorbed throughout the legal process. I began to trust the world again, and stopped being preoccupied with the thought that my son could disappear from my loving arms, at any moment. She genuinely supported me and restored my belief in myself, as a mother. She helped me adjust, as my son was reentering my life. I benefitted deeply from Dr. Santoro’s skill and competence as a psychologist. But, the one who benefitted the most, was my son. Dr. Santoro reached out her hand to help me, a drowning mother. In the process of transforming my life, she also transformed the life of my son. I will be forever grateful. Forever."
