"In my 31st week of pregnancy, I was terminated as a patient. The office claimed this was for a labor and delivery deposit with a due date in 2024. I tried to pay this deposit online, but my account shows a $0 balance due. I confirmed they did not put this claim through to my insurance company. They gave me a time frame to come up with the money, but cancelled my ultrasound appointment before I attempted to pay over the phone. Once I found out my appointment was cancelled, I had the office cancel my payment. Once you sign the release form for your records, it can take 14-30 days for them to process the transfer. So, if you want to transfer (which I recommend), make sure you’re not in your 3rd trimester. In the termination letter I received from the office, they mention it may be difficult to find care at this stage in pregnancy. For example, this office will not accept pregnant patients beyond 36 weeks and they will let you go at 31."
