"I had been wanting a mother’s/right hand ring since we knew we were done having children (about 12 years). I envisioned a swirly ring with the kids’ birthstones (citrine, garnet, & ruby) for a while. When Mom passed, I got her gold jewelry; most of which was broken in some way or another. On Saturday, Sept 19, in the evening, we had a celebratory, impromptu dinner; I was able to open the box. The ring I was having made had polished gold around the stones. I opened the box and to my surprise, Chris added diamonds. This was just in time for our 16th wedding anniversary which was Sept 24. Now, I have a "true" mother's ring with a part of Mom, too.
