"GO TO YELP FOR THE TRUE REVIEWS !!!SOUTHERN MARYLAND FOOT AND ANKLE: WHERE YOUR ELDERLY LOVED ONES ARE TREATED LIKE ANIMALS !!!!! This was the worst experience of my life and has caused me much trauma. I was verbally assuaulted, pushed out of office with door slammed in my face by a Danielle K. RN. l recently went to Southern Maryland foot and Ankle owned by a Dr. Pointer (I guess it is, at least that is what a nurse Danielle K RN stated but I think the actual owner is a Dr. Hotchiss), I am so traumatized by this practice that I had to get this experience out and tell the world, as I felt helpless as this all white crew of PREPUBESCENT woman treated me like dirt Gave unsanitary care slammed the door in my face in an office and screamed at me several times to Get out!!!!. I came to this office for an issue and as an elderly woman was chastised because I did not speak or curtsy to the white VERY YOUNG receptionist (Cameran) when she opened the door for me to come in . When I came in, I was looking in my purse for something and she was offended because I did not say hello to her first.( I guess that why she was offended at least that is what the office manager Danielle K.said, I don’t know.) I did, however, say hello after she angrily snapped hello at me. Cameron was very rude and nasty. Acted as If she did not want to care for the pt. I asked her what was wrong with her and what was her name thinking the staff would address her rudeness. I guess I was naïve to think that the customer should be treated with respect and if not it should be addressed with the manager. That however seems not to be the case at Southern Maryland foot and ankle where the teen receptionist are first priority and the pt. care is last. Instead, when I addressed the young ladies’ rudness, I was screamed at by a Danielle K, RN and told you need to speak to our staff when you come in. Danielle K.RN stated Cameron(office staff) told me she said hello when you walked in the door and you did not say anything to her. (This is incorrect as I said hello back) Excuse me for thinking the point of a Dr’s office was to care for the patients and not the egos or neurosis of the prepubescent staff who feel slighted because they are not greeted coddled or curtsied to the way they think they should be. Remember this is a doctor’s office and many of the patients that come in here are sick. It is not the patient’s job to address the staff’s idiotic insecurities .The office manager DANIELLE K. responded to my complaint by pushing me out of the office and slamming the door in my face(( I believe she pushed me if my recollection is correct not sure but I know for sure she slammed the door in my face and said get out!!!!!) because at this point I blacked out due to the severe brutality of the experience and this woman yelling at me to GET OUT!!!!! as she slammed the door in my face. Meanwhile I have paid the copay. She stated you need to address our staff when you come in here. The Dr., a D. Pointer sat sheepishly with a benign embarrassed grin with his head down with a bashful look as to “say my name is Bennet and I am not in it” I could not have been more ashamed of a black doctor in my life. NURSE DANIELLE K NEEDS HER LISCENCE REVOKED. PLEASE SPARE THE ELDERLY THE TRAUMA AND DISRESPECT OF YOUR PRACTICE. THERE ARE A PLETHORA OF PROVIDERS THAT TREAT THERE PATIENTS WITH SANITARY CARE AND DIGNITY. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRENDOUS ESTABLISHMENT!!! I WISH I HAD!!!!!!!! Why because I wanted to know the name of the young lady who was being rude and when I addressed it with her office manager Danielle k RN, I was screamed at and kicked out of the office and told you need to speak to our staff and greet them when you see them. HUHH??????. This practice is DEPOLORABLE. The nurse Danielle K. should have her license revoked. Please, Please , PLEASE do not go if you value your sanity and dignity. As a person of color, I am ashamed that this black doctor Dr Pointer would let his teen staff treat a black elderly woman this way. Forget black any elderly woman(White Chinese, Arab, Indian, Japanese’s, Hispanic) but it just stings to see this black doctor sit idle by and let this white prepubescent teen staff treat his black patients like this in a black neighborhood and say and do nothing. FOR SHAME. Cameron and Danielle K RN. For Shame Dr. Justin Pointer. I wished I didn't experience this trauma. Too many other caring podiatry offices . Visit the YELP reviews. They're accurate!!!!"
"Arrived for my appointment and was immediately checked in. I waited a very short time for the doctor and he was very good. Told me what was going on with my foot and the treatment plan. The young lady that came in to wrap my foot and explain how to do the device showed great customer service. Office was clean and updated. Overall great visit."
"The physical office is absolutely beautiful, warm and inviting. My fractured foot was definitely in pain when I arrived. Staff went beyond their duties to accommodate me including support necessary verifying my insurance. Medical staff including the doctor and nurse who examined me were phenomenal. I have a deep distrust of doctors. The doctor at this practice made me laugh, smile, and most important, trust him. If you are experiencing foot or ankle issues I highly recommend this medical practice. They are unique, quality, understanding, thorough, and so wonderful that in the medical field they are rare. 5 Stars from me."
"The staff and Dr. Kuruppa are phenomenal! The team is professional, very competent, and courteous! Dr. Kuruppa is the only podiatrist I've been to who appropriately numbs your area of concern before she uses the needle. So my ingrown toenail removal was relatively painless. She is kind, listens to your concerns, and is knowledgeable. The staff is wonderful as well. It was very busy in the waiting area on the day of my appointment. The staff worked quickly to ensure that patients were seen and the apologized for the wait. I highly recommend this practice!"
