"Alterations and Tailoring is a family run business. The son deals with the customers/ scheduling. The mom helps figure out what needs to be altered/tailored and makes the appropriate pins. The father does all the alterations. I only spoke and worked with the mother and son.They are both very kind and welcoming! I brought my wedding dress to Alterations and Tailoring in June 2023 for my wedding October 7th. We spoke about what I wanted done to my dress (add sleeves, bustle, hemming, shorten straps) I was given a price and was told they would text me when I could come back to try it on. I also asked if I were to lose weight or my body changed by October would it be an additional charge and the son told me no. I reached out to them in September and tried my dress on September 13th. It needed some more alterations. I came back again October 2nd for a final fitting and because the straps were finally finished we noticed gaping under my arms that needed to be fixed. My wedding was October 7th so I had to get it done fast. They added an additional charge of $100 to get the gaping fixed even though they told me I would not be charged if something came up and my body changed. I didn’t fuss about it because I needed it done, but that was frustrating- I was already paying a lot. I picked up the dress on October 5th and payed the final amount (cash only). Then my wedding day came around and I noticed during my cocktail hour that my sleeves weren’t even the same color as my dress. My dress was ivory and the sleeves were white. The fabric added to my sleeves was supposed to come from what they took off of my dress- this was very disappointing for me. I am adding a picture but my photographer is amazing and was able to edit my pictures so you don’t notice it. The alterations made by this company are seamless and you can’t tell. They do great work overall. EDIT- I have added another star to my post. They reached out to me and offered money back due to the inconveniences I ran into. This shows great customer service! "Needed alterations done on my bridesmaids dress. Mother did an outstanding job of noting everything I wanted done on the dress and the tailor did an excellent job bringing the vision to life! Son was very friendly and welcoming as well. Something to note: will need to bring cash, business does not accept cards for payment- BUT they do let you pay once you pick up your order if you don’t have cash during the consultation. Overall great experience and will return for future alterations!"
