"I had a negative experience when I went to this store to exchange a shirt. I had a receipt and paid for the item the day before. They couldn’t find the item number even though the price and description of the item was there. The first lady who helped me was condescending and impatient. When the manager joined in, she was very dismissive and said that it doesn’t matter that I was there the day before. Another sales clerk knew I was there the day before and didn’t care at all, she only sarcastically said hi to me and was clearly not planning on helping at all. All three of them were unkind and unhelpful, while I was calm and open in the way I spoke to them. They were unprofessional and inflexible in the way they handled the situation, which again was a very simple exchange that every store should know how to do. I realized that I wasn’t getting anywhere with them and decided to leave. As I walked out, one of the ladies said it is not their fault but the system’s. These ladies’ clear inability to cater to the basic needs of a customer is not the fault of the system and it only shows their inexperience in dealing with customer service. The manager said something along the lines of, “it’s okay, we don’t need her,” and the feeling is mutual because I have other options. In addition, the three of them laughed at me as I walked away. Anyone looking to shop there should look elsewhere because while ALL their employees are consistently helpful when you are purchasing merchandise, doing exchanges with these three people wasted my time and energy today. I want them to remember that I spent my time and money in this store, so their poor treatment of me and other customers will negatively impact them. They should know that their customers are the reason why they’re in business and we deserve to feel as if we spent our money in the right place. We have other options. After being a loyal customer here for years, this Ann Taylor location is off my list for future shopping visits."
"Very rude sales associates are not willing to provide a shopping bag after purchase, only offer to provide paper wrap even though the bags are just behind the counter. Then, the associate just refuses to cut soft tags, that will trigger alarm, stating you can try look for the tag and cut your magic tag at home. So Ann Taylor make sure every store you go to will have alarm experienced, after you spent $200 for your spouse. This is hard to imagine how they threat their customers, not even possible to complete strangers."
"I was stunned yesterday (06-11-22 between 6:30-7p) by how one of your staff (Homa) at Fair Oaks Mall, VA treated me. Out of the blue and from across the room she tells me (visibly angry): 'Mam, can you hang your clothes in the hanger?'. I was shocked by the words and the tone it was delivered. I had just come out of the fitting room leaving the 4 pieces of clothing that I had tried, and was looking to get another dress to try. Until that point this lady had no interaction with me. She was milling around like a busy person but had not once--not once--asked if I needed help. At one point I had asked her: Does this dress come in petite, and she tells me: 'I don't know!' I understand that, but what kind of a response is that from someone who is hired (I believe) to help the customers? She could have offered to check the size for me. Well, coming back to her initial comment: I was in the fitting room (again) to try another dress. And guess what: I could overhear Homa telling the other staff at the next fitting room about what she told me. I heard the other staff say: 'Did you actually say that'? And Homa added: 'Yes, she would not do that in her closet, would she?' I have seen this staff on my previous visits too: No customary welcome...no offer to help. But I didn't mind. I didn't pay attention to those niceties. However, yesterday's experience was a bit much. This staff needs some training or the store needs someone who can do the job well. I visit the store not just to purchase but for the experience as well. I tried to give my feedback via email but the system could not send email. Therefore, I am writing here. On a happier note: The two other staff who were there...especially the one at the register...were very helpful and nice. Also, I love Ann Taylor because its petite clothes cater to diverse age groups!"
"They are not open when they are supposed to be. And when I tried opening the door it was locked and three employees just standing inside just shook their heads and said no even though I pointed out that Google and Ann Tayor said it was open an hour earlier. Also, upon being let in finally the manager who was off duty was in there early returning her stuff before the door opened. Then, telling me I needed to be gracious because the mall wasn't open until 11 Yet many non food businesses were open.. Liars!! Very Hypocritcal! I came to return an item from three hours away and only came to this location open @10....."
"The "manager" Kat doesn't know how to refund money - she ended up charging me for something that was supposed to be returned. After explaining thr situation to her VERY SLOWLY MULTIPLE TIMES, the cogs in her brain churned enough smoke out to realize she did the opposite of refund. She claimed I didn't need to know her name, and that she wasn't at liberty to give me the number to corporate. Lmao what? I called back in 5 seconds later and got the number. If you want to spend your money with cretins, this place is for you =)"
