"As a student at BCTC, I look forward to going back everyday! It’s interesting to learn something new! I’m loving the new experience of welding. In the welding program I can say that Dustin, Kyle, and Riley are absolutely awesome! They’re very helpful and will tell you the truth when it comes to your work. Honesty is what occurs in the real work field. These teachers make you feel encouraged to keep getting better and teach you how to improve! This sets up students for success. This program is very hands on and will get to work right away. Little book work!"
"the reason i give you guys a 5 is solely for having T or, as you guys would say, Dustin Trumbore. he is a excellent teacher and has taught me so may things before he came to bctc. he pushed us harder than any other teacher i’ve had before and it would benefit all of you coming on here to man up. coming on here and saying stuff online instead talking to him personally is very very childish. having a teacher than can push you and expect more out of you than you do yourself is a blessing. if you cannot handle criticism from a teacher when you are a FULLY GROWN ADULT that says a lot more about you than it does about him. THIS PATH IS NOT FOR YOU IF YOU CANNOT HANDLE IT. you will fail instantly if you throw a hissy fit and go right a review online. find some other desk job and work there if you hate it so much. we would LOVE to have him back ❤️"
"I can’t speak to other programs at this school but I can speak to the welding and fabrication program. The school advertises a brand new state of the art welding facility with experienced top notch instructors. This is absolutely false. There are never enough tools or supplies provided and not enough booths many times to accommodate the number of students they bring in. In addition, the instructors are NOT very experienced or top notch. One instructor in particular (Dustin) uses bullying and belittling rather than teaching. He has a very poor attitude and doesn’t have a clue how to actually be a teacher. Many times students actually end up teaching other students more than he does. In addition, these concerns are shared with many other students in the program and have been brought to the attention of several office staff members. Unfortunately they don’t seem to truly care about the students. I would highly encourage you to look elsewhere if you are looking for a welding program."
"The only reason my review is even getting 1 star is for my teacher Mr. Ireland. If it wasn’t for him this review would be as negative as it could get. He tries is absolute hardest to make our schooling worth it with what he has. There isn’t really a curriculum you follow, you kind of just go in the shop and assume this is what you should be doing. Bctc advertises a new state of the art welding program with experienced instructors, and coming from a student who was thrown into an absolute mess after the old teacher left, don’t fall for that statement. For paying such a large chunk of change you would expect to actually get taught what you are paying for but sadly you end up getting the bare minimum. Personally if you can afford going to another school for welding I highly suggest you do. I’m shocked at the fact this school thinks their welding and fabrication program is something great. The higher up’s don’t care to listen to your complaints either. Nothing will change. Extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with BCTC’s ways of handling things and teaching. 1 star and that’s all that school get’s for at least hiring one decent teacher."
"The welding and fabrication program is absolutely horrible. Dustin is the worst teacher I've ever seen. He does not teach but rather gets upset with students. Dustin needs to be fired immediately and someone who actually knows what to do needs to be brought in to teach. You can ask any student at the school and everyone of them will tell you Dustin is a nightmare to work with. Do better CTC, you're oblivious to whats going on in this class."
