"Was extremely pleased with H&R representative who displayed timeliness, professionalism, and knowledge. Preparation was done expeditiously and I received refund within the week. However, a score of 4 was given because I felt H&R's fees were somewhat higher than other quotes received."

"Big recognition to Kassandra @ H&R Block Clinton, MD who resolved this issue. Thank you! The workers at the H&R Block in Temple Hills (Marlow heights shopping center) are inexperienced. Overall, he paid this establishment for his taxes to handled by a tax "professional" but what he received was terrible customer service! He or I will never return. No one seems to know what they are really doing. Such a bad experience. They need to be fully updated on IRS new procedures. My husband had to do an amended return because the paperwork was done wrong the first time. After speaking with the District manager, she instructed for us to wait a month to file an amended return. She stated she was going to set him up with someone that knows what they are doing and will correct his return. After a month gone by, we called in to set up an appointment. The guy that helped us was lost and his accent was way too strong to understand. He didn't seem to understand the situation after explaining why we are back in again. After explaining several times, the guy finally somewhat understood the situation, so he proceeded to do an amended return. After weeks have gone by, my husband didn't receive a refund. I decided to call but called a different H&R Block in Clinton, MD. I explained my husband's situation. She researched and saw that the guy did not do an amended return. She stated something along the lines of " he put it in as a what if, he didn't actually do the amendment, he should have gave you something to mail in". We weren't aware that an amended return needs to be mailed in; therefore that visit a month ago was a waste of my husband and I time."

"I have been with H&R block for almost my entire adult life and never have I seen as bad of service as I have at this branch. I had an appointment for 5pm and almost an hour later, I was still sitting there and told to wait. Why schedule me for 5pm if you're not going to follow through? It's okay if that time slot doesn't work for you guys, but don't schedule me for that time slot then. Such a simple concept. Incredibly unprofessional. Do yourselves a favor and go to another branch."

"I went to this location to file my taxes on 2/1/2020. My tax preparer was about 25 minutes late to our appointment but I let that go due to it being a bit nasty outside. She completed my taxes and I was somewhat satisfied. Federal taxes went through no problem. I was assured all information was gathered and that I just needed to wait on my returns... well my state taxes never went through.. it took THREE WEEKS for anybody to contact me back and figure out why my state taxes were rejected.. a "manager" called back and tried to convince me that it was DC's fault and that the preparer would call me back... preparer calls me back the next day to tell me my taxes were rejected because she forgot to add my landlords information for one of my state tax credits... this is information I specifically pulled up and gave to this preparer the on my initial visit... Low and behold DC sends me an email that my taxes were accepted not even a few hours later.... now I have to wait an extra 3-6 weeks to wait on my return thanks to sloppy customer service... I usually do my own taxes each year with no rejections.... and next year I will return to doing my own taxes...I paid almost $300 for work I could have done myself for less than half of that price... HR Block will never get me like that again."
