"About 8 months ago, I was so upset when I found out that my health insurance had changed from United Healthcare to Highmark and my children's pediatrician was now CCP - White Oak. Not that I had anything against them, but I had always had United and the same pediatrician for my kids since my 1st pregnancy. (My firstborn is now 12 yrs old - so I had them for a long time) So, we have been coming to this office now for almost a year. Today, I needed the address and googled it and was genuinely shocked when I noticed that this office had less than 3 stars. I have 5 children, with 2 of my boys on the spectrum and 2 born with bilateral clubfoot. So, I have been to A LOT of doctor's offices, to say the least. There has been plenty of times I have come across offices with rude or agitated staff who left me wondering why they would choose to work in the medical field at all (not to mention special needs pediatric medical field) when they were obviously not a people person at all. My youngest (Although I dislike these labels, he is level 3 or severely, non-verbal autistic) is very wary of doctor's offices and usually it is a not-so-great experience for him when he has any kind of medical appointment. However, the staff here is so patient and gentle with him. I honestly notice him much more at ease when we are here, compared to other medical offices. Having said all of that, I have had nothing but pleasant, positive experiences with the CCP White Oak office. I'm so shocked to see people complaining about the front office staff because everyone I have interacted with has treated me and my children with the utmost respect and genuine care. Nick and Kellie are especially amazing! Anytime I have sent a message through the myUPMC app, one of them answers me so quickly it always pleasantly surprises me! The nurses/medical assistants are all also awesome!! Even when giving my kids shots, they are gentle, patient, and completely understanding. I wish I remembered the name of the 2 ladies we have seen the most. (I'll find out and edit;)) My kids see Adrienne Simak, who is a CRNP. It's my personal opinion, based off my experiences, CRNP>MD :) and I actually prefer nurse practioners. Adrienne spends the time with my kids to put them at ease (I'm not kidding when I say Dr. Adrienne once spent literally 7 minutes fixing the window blind just so, like my son wanted (He gets fixated on things which can be frustrating for everyone)) and listens to our concerns. She explains everything thoroughly and ensures that we completely understand everything. I have never waited more than 5 minutes (literally) from waiting room to patient room and once in the back, after vitals/triage is done, Adrienne always comes right in. So, please, try this office and form your own opinions before listening to the negative reviews. I bet you won't be sorry♡♡♡♡♡"

"This office use to be so on it when I switched to them 2013. Since then, everything is a fight! The only reason I stay is because Dr. Varley genuinely knows and cares for the kids! The staff charged me, and not my kids insurance, all the time now! Sometimes I will get bills, but for my oldest they stopped billing our insurance and billed me without informing me I was being billed! And ended up ruining my credit! Until my insurance fixed it and compensated me for everything I spent out of pocket for the bills I did get! They are now doing this with my oldest son! Who just turned 18. Luckily, I monitor my credit now and receiving bills months later for late payments and immediately call and and get it handled. Just ridiculous I have to do it every single appointment! Because they don't bill the insurance we have ever! Very frustrating and unprofessional!"

"I am completely disgusted with this office ever since UPMC took over. RSV is heavily making it's rounds. And you would think if you called your child's pediatrician office to make an appointment for your sick child they would not refuse to schedule an appointment for your child. We are told not to go to the hospital because they are overwhelmed with it. And this office won't see our kids either. I'm currently switching pediatrician offices and I highly recommend anyone else who currently has their child/children here you do the same I'm positive you experience the lack of compassion and professionalism our babies deserve. And I don't give them even one star I have to click it in order to post this they negative stars in my book"

"We love this office. We always see dr. Karls, she is truly the best. She listens to you and answers every question asked. We never feel rushed. The wait time is never long and the staff is also super nice. Never had any issues and my daughter is always a happy little girl when we leave."
