"I am currently a student at Gamp. I am loving it a whole lot. FYI: THIS IS FROM A 5TH GRADERS PERSPECTIVE, MEANING THAT THIS MAY NOT APPLY TO ALL GRADES, BUT MAINLY FOR FIFTH GRADE. I have made so many great friends here. The staff is so nice! The teachers are awesome so far! I feel as if I have adjusted to here very well, and even that I belong here, which I have never felt in my old school. At the first meeting we had before school, I knew I already would fit in nicely. I feel like I relate to more people here. However, they make sure that you have 1 period of music per day. If you are not musical, or don’t like music, that is the only thing stopping you. Because there is mandatory choir, music theory, and you can join an instrument group, band, or ensemble! Or if you’d like, you can audition for musicals, or concert choir! There is so much more to say, but who wants an already long review to be EVEN LONGER? But anyways, moving on. Here are some shoutouts to teachers, because I saw someone else doing this. Shoutouts: Mr. Saba, Mrs. Reed, Mr. Santiago-Rivas, and Mr. Holcomb! They’re epic! Byeeeeee! Come to Gamp, or if you’re a parent who is looking for a good school in Philly, apply for Gamp. If you are an alumni, congrats! If you don’t like music, that’s fine, you just may not like Gamp."
"Before I start writing this review, let me just say that I enjoyed my time at this school a lot. I made tons of friends and learned a lot about music which you really can’t get at many other schools. I participated in the annual musical for two years, which was audition based, and I absolutely loved the experience. However, the behavioral policy here is very concerning. The behavioral staff always jump to conclusions and blame the victim before listening to the other side of the story. They also put the teachers, who are fully grown adults, before the students. They choose to use their own opinions on an incident to decide a punishment before using the one that should be used according to the district or schools policy. The staff is also very “clicky” (pardon my spelling mistakes). They very obviously have favorite students and let some of them get away with things that should not be allowed. I no longer attend this school (not by choice)."
"I came to gamp for 9th grade to 12th, and I gotta say it was a great experience to be around students who love the musical ways this school taught but yet I will miss it but this is the best music high-school in Philly"
"I'm a senior here now and the school is great( the best you're gonna get in Philly) students keep each other in check. Wouldn't rather be anywhere else"
"Gamp has always been a bully school. The teachers and staff are a click, I regret sending my child to this school. The founder is rude and thinks he’s the greatest thing ever."
