Reviews
"This doctor is absolutely terrible. Her lack of aptitude is shocking. I have witnessed her misdiagnose two patients and give them incorrect meds that either showed no results or made matters worse! With both patients after seeing a much more competent physician they were both given a completely different diagnosis from Rahman's and immediately showed signs of improvement. It's amazing how some people can be so unskilled in such a clutch craft and still be around to keep messing people up! They should keep record of such occurrences and revoke your license after so many. I speak not as a patient. This makes the review worth considering that much more in my opinion. In the case of mental health professionals a patient has more potential to review with bias because they feel they should have never been treated to begin with. This causes resentment and a greater inclination to review with negativity even amidst competent practitioners and above-average care. I am merely an outside party whose review is solely observational and analytical. I have never been treated for any issues of mental incapacity. I am not saying this makes me better than any person who has been treated for such issues. As humans we all have our own unique medical issues that require treatment, as frequent or not as they may be. I am just stressing my non-bias in identifying this "doctor's" utter incompetence. Also, her bedside manner is atrocious. She is rude, unsympathetic, dismissive, caustic, and curt amongst many other negative character traits. If you have the misfortune of being treated by this "doctor" please immediately seek a second opinion for the sake of your own health. Whoever you see has a 98%+ chance of being more skilled than Rahman. Her ineptitude is, again, shocking!"
"The worst psychiatrist I have ever seen. I was placed under psychiatric treatment after a suicide attempt and I had the extreme misfortune of ending up at Friends Hospital, where she was the head psychiatrist. She was horribly dismissive, cold and condescending, showing no empathy towards my condition and no interest in actually making me feel better. I was going through severe alcohol detox and she gave me a small dose of proper medication for the first few days. Then, when it came time to have the discharge interview, she thought it would be a good idea to keep me in the facility for another week and to cut me off all medication. Because she had no clue how detox works, I ended up almost dying and going into delirium tremens while she kept throwing thorazine and haldol at me even though she should have known that GABAergic medication was required. Finally, she gave up and admitted me to a proper hospital where I was treated as I should be. I looked up her credentials and she claims to have expertise in depression, drug addiction and alcoholism, among other things. I can attest that she knows nothing about any of these. She is the kind of psychiatrist that would feel right at home working in an early 20th century mental asylum, not a modern institution. I am not alone here, all of the patients at the facility were miserable because they were not being treated properly and were being kept against their will for extremely extended periods of time. Even her employees did not respect her and acknowledged that she had poor judgement. Avoid this doctor like the plague. She has no respect for mental health and is one of the worst psychiatrists in Philadelphia."
