Reviews of LECOM Institute for Behavioral Health - Peach Street
"Lecom is a terrible place for mental health care they never answer their phones and when you leaves messages they either take a very long time to get back to you or don’t get back to you at all and continually claim they have “phone issues” for years even after saying they got a new phone system, the doctors don’t listen to your needs and concerns no matter what they are and continue to prescribe meds you aren’t comfortable taking, you expressing your needs is downplayed and ignored as an example I expressed I wasn’t in a good head space at the time to try a new medication (after I had been trying several) and was told “it’s the perfect time to try it” and was dismissed as usual it’s very unprofessional and careless not listening to your patient and is harmful to them, they don’t take your chronic illnesses into consideration when prescribing a new med you’ve expressed concern with and repeatedly for meds in the same class you’ve had bad interactions with due to the chronic illness and you’re just dismissed which is highly ableist, and they act like they care at first just to go right to not listening to you and dismissing you and honestly, its disgusting. You’re treated like you’re not trying when you are and treated like an annoyance. This place doesn’t care about its patients at all. We come here to help our mental health and all they do is help make it worse..good job on failing your patients."
"My doctor is wonderful, but trying to contact the office is proving impossible. I had to schedule an appointment to get more refills, thats no problem. However I thought it was standard to give the patient enough medication until their appointment? I've called for almost two weeks and they just send me to the refill request line. I leave messages and they go unanswered. I'm so frustrated being off my medication for over a week, this can't be safe practice"
"Allison is a great doctor, but the scheduling staff needs to be polished. Refill runs out call, no call back to say refill was called in. Then I need to have an appointment to get anymore refills, make an appointment wait call 3 days before appointment to check the time no call!!"
"I’ve been a patient of Allison’s for over a year now. She has been an amazing asset to my mental health. I’m by far not the easiest client to attend to and she has gone above and beyond for me. She not only listens to me about my concerns and what I think would work best for me but also adds her expertise and thoughts into the mix. I was a hot mess over a year ago and now, thanks to Allison, I’m a better mom, friend, and just better overall. I would hope Allison gets some type of gold star for this because it’s people like her that are truly out here making a difference one person at a time."
"I never write these. Even if I'm upset, I think "Oh, they must be having a bad day " and don't complain. I'm not sure what's going on over there but the need to get their act together. #1 difficult to get an appointment- understandable, it's mental health. But, it's just as hard to get someone live on the phone to make an appointment. Heaven forbid if their answering machine goes down. #2.There is great turn over within the healthcare system here in Erie, so sticking with a doctor is hard to do. Erie is a stepping stone in their career., especially here. #3 If you ever need a medication refill, good luck. You are allowed to leave 1 message and then hope for the best. Don't call about your refill , they get mad and push it to the back of the pile. It may take weeks for a script to be called in. #4 It does not matter if you go back into the office to ask for your script. They will NOT provide it. And they will not call it in. They say they will pass it on,but it again will take days. They say they will call you, but they don't. I FULLY UNDERSTAND WHY THIS PLACE HAS SUCH LOW STARS. The doctors may be great but the office manager and team are lacking. Maybe they can have competent people if they pay more and have higher expectations. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN LECOM BEHAVIORAL HEALTH"
