"The doctors are very good and offer Penn Medicine quality care. However, the staff and policies need more training and a more professional leadership. Where to begin? Their stated policy reads "No visitors will be permitted except under special circumstances" The office manager makes the call on "Special Circumstances" Both the office manager and the intake rep were unprofessional and a bad representation of the image Penn Medicine wants to portray. I took my wife there because she has cancer, had fluid in her lungs, was coughing uncontrollably and very weak. I am her care-taker and had all of her information and was able to talk, where she struggled. I was told - not asked but told that I have to wait outside. This was told to me by both the rep and manager. Waiting outside the office there isn't even 1 chair in the hall or the floor - To them outside means stay in your car your car if you drove. The other staff members that I saw were unprofessional in their appearance. The saddest thing about this review is that Penn Medicine has the resources, skills and talent to fix these and other issues, but won't address these concerns as evidences by the current score of 2.7 in their reviews and if you read the actual reviews you get a sense of the really poorly run office. My guess is that South Philadelphia is not a priority as say Villanova. One more thing - they used to have a kiosk used to sign-in, now they use a clip board with everyone's name clearly visible and the clip board is on the desk top that is not used by the intake rep - no the best way to manage privacy issues. If you can look past the poorly run office, the unprofessional staff, the incredibly rude intake rep and office manager, you will receive quality care from the doctors."
"If i could give them -5 stars i would. NOT A competitive employer and they will TRY to make the transition impossible for anyone looking to work there to earn a reasonable living wage. They would rather have their employees intertain living below your means and struggle. Meanwhile they have enough and then some!!!!!"
"I don’t know where to start. I brought my client to the Social Security Building for an appointment she had. As soon as we entered the office, we were hit with a powerful smell of urine. The bathroom door was wide open with disgusting toilet paper trailing from the bathroom to the office. We were there for about 2 1/2 hours and no one came out to clean and sanitize it. You have sick and disabled people coming to their appointments and have to endure such a disgusting environment, especially when we are still in a Covid pandemic with variants popping up daily. My client never got to see the doctor for her appointment because the doctors were extremely rude and unprofessional. One doctor(an Asian woman) violated multiple HIPAA laws when she refused to see my client because she assumed my client had Covid(which she does not and had her recent Covid test with her) and screamed to her staff in the hallway and that she refused to see my client. So my client saw another doctor(James Goodyear) and he was extremely unprofessional and asked my client very rudely why she has congestive heart failure. My client was very offended and left her appointment. You people serve the community, not the other way around. I can’t imagine the horrors of these patients and what they endure on a daily basis at this location. We will be moving forward to make sure no other person needing to go to these offices have to endure such neglectful care, and can get the professional care they need in a sanitary environment. No one should be subjected to ridicule or embarrassment by professionals that took an oath to protect people. This location is doing the complete opposite. The only positive thing we have to say about this experience was the empathy and professionalism from the other staff who were very apologetic and frankly embarrassed themselves. They also should not be subjected to that environment when they go to work. This review is not to tarnish this business but to make them aware of the changes that are much needed before it gets worst."
"Employees are unprofessional in appearance and performance. Despite being health care workers, no one was wearing their mask appropriately and were more focused on their cellphones than performing their duties. Waited over an hour for lab work only to be told there was a “problem” with the orders. I left and rescheduled my appointment with a more competent facility."
"Came down for appointment waited an hour to see the doctor and she refused to see me. Her office was across the room I was in and could here everything. She said it’s time for me to go home so I’m not seeing them. After that I had to reschedule the appointment and was told I would be seen right away. Did that happen NO! They told me it may be a three hour wait. This is unacceptable. The doctor needs to be helped responsible for this. This should have never happened in the first place."
