"Dr. Mayekar failed me horribly, in several situations. He "treated me" for depression, while I spoke of suicide during every appointment, for 14 yrs., till I was hospitalized after experiencing uncontrollable self-mutilation, that could well have resulted in my death, the psychiatrist there started me on a medication that had me out of my 14 yr depression (with Mayekar) in 9 days after starting this new medication. A medication that Dr Mayekar failed to try on me. And, another thing, yrs later, that I cannot seem to yet get over, is the fact that his failure to separate my illness from reality, when I went to him for help, in desperstion, cost me the love of my father and the rest of my family and made them lose faith in my outstanding honest nature. Which I previously had always been known for. It's very upsetting for me to remember my entire 15-16 yr I had him as my psychiatrist. All I can say is- beware. Be careful, better yet, be done with him."
