"The dining experience this evening was exceptional, marked by impeccable culinary offerings and a staff exemplifying a high standard of hospitality. Each member displayed commendable manners, contributing to a thoroughly pleasant atmosphere."
"Checked out L’avant on a weekday night for a date night. The ambience was amazing! We got seated close to the fireplace, which I was thankful for. The food was good, but def could be better. We got the beef matelote and seared John Dory with figs. For app we got the grilled octopus( was very good). For dessert we had the pear soufflé and tarte feuilletee aux pommes ( chef’s grandmas recipe ) which was amazing! Our service and servers were very nice and the restaurant seemed very organized."
"I've dined here twice now, once at a table with a group, and another time solo at the bar. The food is extraordinary and is really, authentically French. It's good to see a chef of this caliber raising the bar for Georgetown's dining circuit. The bouillabaisse in puff pastry is not to be missed, and the scrambled egg with caviar was memorable and well worth the price tag. Rabbit persillade beyond compare. The chocolate millefeuille dessert is a wonderful and inventive creation. My primary complaint pertains to the service. Both times there have been serious issues. Courses have been delivered in the wrong order, long wait times, items forgotten. I also found the bartender working the evening I was in to be rather gruff and aloof. When I asked for recommendations, she had none. I hope these issues will be addressed. As anyone who is an admirer of the French culinary arts knows, service is as important as the food itself. The service here would not cut it in even a neighborhood bistro in Paris."
"Had the opportunity to meet the youngest Michelin chef ever. He is still at the top of his game and my experience has been amazing. If you're ever in D.C, make sure you bookmark this restaurant! This place might get a Michelin star soon. Be sure to try the cocktails too!"
"I see a Michelin star! So happy to see a chef who stirs away from the traditional rustic fare served in other French restaurants in the area. Very modern, very contemporary French and very delicious. Very attentive and professional staff. Can’t wait to come back. We went back and once more we were thrilled by the cuisine. The chef’s chicken is altogether another dimension; moist and full of aromas and flavors. My favorite was the risotto with truffles!"
