"Been there since 5th grade. I had a lot of satisfying and special memories there. My favorite teacher was my Social Studies teacher, Mr. Hoffman. Unfortunately, I moved to another State, which is Ohio. I'm in a middle school right now. White Oak Middle School is now my school. No uniforms, phones are allowed, not anymore, and a lot of hard work. Don't worry about me, my grades are fine...perfectly fine. I don't think I remember the principles name. She was kinda nice. I think I was the tallest one in the class. I'm the tallest teen in my class right now. Anyway, I kinda miss that school. Not gonna cry about, cause i'm bout to be a man now. Matthew, if your looking at this review then all I gotta say is Sup."
"My sons were in 2nd and 5th grade at Jenks. Now Jenks teacher Ms. Amir, and for kindergarten Ms. Millier and Ms. Kirchner were great but as a whole the school is OVER CROWDED my son had 60 students in his 2nd grade class. How in the heck do you safely teach and supervise 60 2nd graders. My 5th grader because the school is over crowded had to carry every single book and school supply on his back because they have no desk. People flock to Mt. Airy and Chestnut Hill thinking great community..must be great schools. Nope wrong...My husband and I actually moved in order to give our children a better school environment and education. Could not take the classroom size, lack of activities, lack of communication even if you use class Dojo some teachers still dont respond. Principal is super scattered rude office staff (the one heavy set fair skin black lady) glad my children are gone we gave that school 1 year to show and prove...obviously they failed so we left."
"My children attend this school. Picture this.. graduation day for my 6 year old daughter, everyone gets called to the stage, everyone except my daughter. Rewind to 2nd semester, meeting was called because she isn't learning as fast as other children. During that meeting they told me I should write a letter and hold her back. (Teacher gives ONLY math printouts for homework every day, never any spelling or word work) I did blame the teacher for not giving her a fair chance.. because of this the teacher and principal BOTH neglected and bullied my child. After the ceremony today, my child was escorted back to the classroom where they printed out a fake diploma in black and white with a handwritten name. My child was so distraught she cried for most of the day. We entrust these people with our children. Not only do we have to worry about children bullies, but now the teachers need to be watched."
"If you would enjoy receiving a phone call from your child's kindergarten teacher telling you that your child left the classroom and she doesn't know where he is or if he's even still in the school building, then you've found the right place! This place is a step below a children's penitentiary."
"Really love this school! Academics are by far better than most public schools in Philadelphia. Not crazy about the uniform policy, but that's a Philadelphia Public School directive. Especially, like the contact with teachers concerning children's in class behavior and class participation. I requested and received daily emails from key instructors about my children. They do have a strict homework policy; and there can be a lot. Parental participation is encouraged and welcomed!"
