"Want empathy? Search elsewhere. Dr Benjamin is a psychiatrist bred of the managed care era--only he doesn't take health plans! My former (deceased) psychiatrist was of the old school: He listened and took handwritten notes. Reverse that for Dr. Benjamin. If eye contact is a basic sign of rapport, it was missing. He speaks so low, you find yourself saying "What did you say?", "Huh?" Anyone who gave him more than a 2 for bedside manner (or warmth, if it was listed) is utterly insensitive. He knows his meds, but seems to be unable to match the person to them. He formulates a plan based on meager information, then sticks to it--and expects you to do so as well, although the med reaction is negative."
