"I went to visit my son at the step down house in Henrville, pa. he came back with 2 full bags of gifts. he told me in the car everything would be searched and that he would have to get a Breathalyzer. we were both very happy about that as that is the structure and accountability that is absolutely needed in recovery. however neither of those things happened!! so the message that that set him and everyone else there is that you can bring anything you want in here and we won't even check, putting their lives and their well-being at risk. When I showed up that day the counselor that was at the house had his feet up on the desk -- and was sleeping. he did not even know I was there until I walked right up to him.. They took my son to the smoke shop where him and other people obtained marijuana cigars or something like that & probably Kratom ( highly addictive, they're making it a "controlled substance" you'd THINK these addiction professionals would know this!!, as well.???) they ended up kicking out 6 peopleas a result-- After they decided ppl cud have their phones after 10 pm instead of turning in, which was a great rule .I had called his counselor Kate 3 and a half weeks previous to all this-- leaving a message saying that I had many concerns and she never ever got back to me..I left 4 messages abd emailed her!!!. I called and left messages to speak to the director and no one ever got back to me."
"Leave five stars for the services they provide the communities residents struggling with addictions, from hearing what some others have said people have to keep in mind there are different types of rehabs all over and each one is unique to its own system but they all are focused on the same overall goals. Some or most these days are the same as in not being very strict with certain things because these places are supposed to be about starting fresh, having tons of freedom in a good environment to think about things, get to know yourself better or find yourself again and there are always going to be different methods of treatment for one patient from the next because all addicts bodies react differently to drugs and each is at their own level of addiction, their are many that have used things like opiates since they were pre teens and a lot of peoples bodies have never known a normal as most people do but instead their version of normal is when their body is having it’s brain release some levels of serotonin point being a lot of people actually really do need things like methadone or things like suboxone even say when they are incarcerated or when they get out of incarceration or if they are free but having bad urges then those things can be used not as detox medication but as maintenance medication, for long term addicts the maintenance medication doesn’t get them high it just makes them feel closer to a version of normal and takes away all their or most of their urges to use and they are able to focus on building their lives back up, job family, friends, etcetera and the overall plan is to not put a number on it for any all should just take thing day by day week by week and so on and on until they feel they have at least had a significant time without crazy stress and urges and a good life going for them that’s the best time to then focus on slowly and safely weaning off of the maintenance medication (MAT treatment) but some don’t end up needing them for long too long but some definitely do and are much better off for it speaking from personal experience and knowing countless others that didn’t make it in their fights with addiction and also so many that have battled hard and beat addiction completely, I don’t think of using or have urges but still cherish life and take things day by day each one is a blessing."
"If I could give a negative rating I would. Husband attended detox and wasn't even on an opiate yet they're giving him subutex to sit there high as a kite. Then they tell me to come in and state my concerns to a counselor before deciding to pull him out of there and when I go there they told me I couldn't be there and said they never told me that. On top of it all they discussed all of my concerns about my husband and fought with me telling me I'm a liar about coming there in front of every single person in the room which is against HIPPA laws. Mary who is head of nursing is an absolute nightmare and the place is a joke. I brought my husband cigarettes the night before as well and didn't have to go in or anything. He just walked to the car. Anyone could bring anything in there. If you care about the person you're thinking about sending here find somewhere else this place is a joke."
