"I’m getting harassed by a collection agency over a $35 bill from over 2 years ago, which i have the receipt for showing that i paid the day they services were rendered! Their incompetence has created huge headaches for me. If I actually did still owe them $35 from two years ago, wouldn’t a respectable business have mailed me a bill or called me and said “our records show you have an outstanding copay due from a few years back” and which point I could have given them my payment confirmation number? Nope, they choose to treat their patients like thieves and sent their mistake off to collections with out ever contacting me. FOLLOW UP: I previously thought of them as just greedy (for a non-profit!). But, in sending follow-up information to this debt collector trying to prove I still owe them $35 from 5 years ago, they INCLUDED MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS OF MY DAUGHTER on the statement they sent out. This is 100% a violation of HIPAA laws! That makes the fact they are ignoring the 4-year Statute of Limitations on debt in Pennsylvania seem insignificant."
