"Jillian was absolutely amazing to work with. From the moment my wife and I found out we were pregnant we knew the type of birth we wanted and set out to find the right person to make that happen. We discovered Jillian doing a web search for widwives in our area who did home births as that was the plan we had settled on. The moment we met her, we knew it was the right fit. It wasn't weird or awkward like most doctors visits. It was a "get to know you" type of visit. We talked about our live and hers and by the time our visit was done I felt leaving like I had made a new friend. We looked forward to every visit, and when the time came that labor started, Jillian was available at all times. I found myself texting her in the middle of the night for advice on ways to soothe the pain and she was a calming presence when our carefully constructed birth plan went right out the window. We had planned a home water birth and everything was going well until a few hours into it when my blood pressure spiked and wouldn't come down. After trying various things and still it didn't budge we had to be transferred to the hospital. Jillian was with us every step of the way, going ahead to let them know we were coming (an hour drive at that!) And staying with us throughout the rest of my labor and delivery. She took pictures for us, offered advice, and helped us advocate for things that we wanted and didn't want. Even though nothing went as planned for us that night we have a beautiful daughter to show for it and we couldn't have had such a wonderful birth experience without Jillian."
