Reviews of Mezzoid Voice Studio LLC: Curiously Strong Singing & Performing
"I met Christine through a professional network for voice teachers and I could tell from day 1 that she combines experience, expertise and personality in the best of ways. In 2021, Christine asked me to be part of World Voice Weekend. She booked me as one of two acting teachers, and she also booked masterclasses with none other than Christian Borle as well as many others. It was an amazing weekend full of learning and positivity. Christine is one of the most well-organized and reliable people I know. I'm thankful that I met her and got to be part of such an amazing event. I hope to collaborate again soon in the future! Izzie xo."
"I have been singing since I was a small child, both choral and solo performance. However, as I have moved into being a more mature performer, the way that I produced and sustained sounds was changing. Christine has been great at working with me to figure out how I need to work differently with my body to produce the sounds I want to . When I got a little over-cocky after last year's NATS competition and decided I was going to compete in both the classical AND musical theatre categories this year, Christine said, "Sure!" So now I have to learn to sing German (which I at least studied) and Italian (which I didn't). Christine has been so patient in coaching me through the pronunciation and how to produce the best sound and resonance in languages I don't speak. And I don't doubt in the least that if I'm not ready to go up on that stage in February, she will tell me so. 10/10 highly recommend."
"My daughter has been a student at the Mezzoid Voice Studio for over 2 years, and we are very happy with the experience! Christine's thoughtful individualized approach to each student's goals is deeply appreciated, and has resulted in a marked improvement in my child's vocal and performance abilities. Christine not only assisted my daughter with her HS entrance audition (helping her score 95%) but continues to assist with any auditions and lessons , as needed. Additionally, there is a great sense of camaraderie among students of Mezzoid, which adds more value and enjoyment to the experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Mezzoid to anyone looking for a personalized professional vocal instruction."
"Christine is a great instructor to take your vocal skills to the next level, whether you are an amateur performer or already a professional. Lessons with Christine are not just about singing well but working towards being an overall professional tier performer. I began lessons with her a year ago when I was welcomed to be a cantor at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Baltimore. I had previously taken years of voice lessons with other instructors but had some problem areas I could not move past. Working with Christine through video lessons during the pandemic has helped me improve my sight-reading ability, refine my ear, and give added ease and clarity to both extremes of my range. Under her instruction, my musical skills progressed enough to allow me the opportunity to cantor a televised Mass for Archbishop Lori and be invited to teach pediatric voice lessons to a former nanny client. Some voice teachers emphasize flattery and positive feedback to build confidence in their students. While this can be helpful for some very nervous singers, Christine does not subscribe to this philosophy. What this means is that you can trust that Christine's feedback will be honest and she will work with you until that positive feedback can be provided in earnest by the professionally trained ear. My favorite thing about Christine as a voice teacher is that she does not stick with a rigidly classical vocal technique. While she can teach this way for those who prefer it, she has the flexibility to work with singers who have a variety of performing goals. Since my primary focus with vocal training was being a Catholic cantor, Christine utilized a blended style between classical and musical theater technique to train my voice specifically for my chosen area of specialization. This crossover training has cultivated a vocal style that is well received both in a church setting and with the general public...which is not something that could be said when my training was limited to exclusively classical technique. If it is your goal to be a better performer and musician, investing in lessons with Christine is worth it! Do it for yourself and the community at large. :-)"
"Christine has been my daughter’s voice teacher for several years now and I can’t say how amazing she has been. Watching older videos of my daughter’s recitals and comparing them to her voice today, the transformation has been incredible. Christine teaches classical voice, focusing on vocal health, and safe growth and maturation, in a fun and engaging way. My daughter will be well prepared when she auditions this fall for college musical theater programs!"
