"Preface: Dr. Lowery is the best. I called to make an appointment to see Dr. Lowery for an inflammation of arthritis in my foot, identical to an occurrence that Dr. Lowery had treated me for successfully when it happened once before. He was unavailable for two weeks, so I accepted an appointment with one of his associates. I wasn’t in the office for more than 20 minutes in total. I knew what I needed, and that’s what I got – a steroid injection. Six months later I received an invoice that included a $140 charge for a new patient fee. I thought it was a mistake and called to tell them that I was not a new patient – that I had seen Dr. Lowery for this exact issue. They said, “He works for us now.” They said it was legal for them to charge this additional fee because three years had gone by since my last visit. (It was three years and six weeks.) Even if it is legal, that doesn’t mean it’s honest. They should have informed me ahead of time. This review is a warning to ASK UP FRONT WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO CHARGE YOU FOR."
