"I never write reviews but when I went to write a terrible review about my current apartment, I realized I hadn't written a good one for this complex. Lived here for 2 years in one of their income based units. Parking is a little scarce and a fight because it's shared with the apartments next door. You can find a space occasionally on the Silver Spring side of Eastern Ave that doesn't require you to move at a certain time BUT once you park, that's it, be in for the night. The street parking directly across the street requires a DC permit and on 14th you can't park between 8am-4pm. For this reason I lessened the stars. I stayed in a 1 bedroom and the size is great for 2 people, might be pushing it for more than that unless the kids are very young. Maintenance is very fast and timely. Had one mouse the first year I moved in but to their defense I lived on the first floor and it was a hole behind one of my appliances. They were out immediately to assess and I never seen anything again. The grounds are super clean, however, the trash on the Newell side does tend to get overly piled up by trash day (which is pure laziness on my fellow residents part because the two dumpsters in the parking lot aren't usually full at all. Take the extra steps guys!). I had one neighbor who had a pretty loud gf who would scream his name outside, management nipped that in the butt each time. Other than that the complex is super quiet, aside from occasional holidays when people would have guests over. The gym is quaint but it gets things done, and the laundry room is pretty decent when residents don't over stuff the machine. Cameras were supposed to be installed after my package was stolen (not sure on the TL or if this has been done because I moved shortly after BUT it was one time in the 2 years that I lived there and all in all the awareness in management is great)."

"The staff has been on top of their game,they added someone to the office and now have taken their service to another level. This team has been here longer than any other and tackles problems in a timely and professional manner. They give the best they and you can't ask for anything more"

"Best place to live. Really affordable and convenient walking distance to metro,giant,cvs bus stop s2 & s9 just on the corner. staff it’s good 2 maintenance man and the lady manager they treat me with respect and very handy I even noticed one off the guys the younger one helping a eldest lady carrying her groceries to her second floor apartment. The only issue it’s the laundry room to small and some residence don’t collaborate they live their laundry for ever but nothing we can do like I say live with what you have it’s you don like it you should buy your own house......"

"I had such of horrible experience trying to lease am apartment with Sping Garden. Person named Cathy was rude and unprofessional. I put my application in and it was approved. But property manager Cathy never told me that if I was approved I had to move in right away regardless of my intentions of moving in the 1st day of the month. I has already waste $30 for application fee (and the few points they took from my credit score), I had already gave her the $300 "holding fee" money order and I had already told her that I needed the apartment by the 1st day of the March 2018 and she never ever explain to me that I NEEDED TO MOVE RIGHT AWAY!!! She was trying to "pro-rate" the apartment wich means that I have to pay for half of the month of February $600 plus the $300 and another $200 before move in!!! When I ask her why she didn't explain me that it was imperative to move in before the end of the month of February her answer was: I'm sorry..... C'mon people you have to give it to the people straight forward!!! As of right now I'm looking for a place to live before the end of the month! Otherwise I'll become a HOMELESS!!! WORST PLACE EVER!!!"
