"Horrible experience. I will never go to MedExpress again. I discourage anyone else from coming here. First off, the people that work here are extremely rude and miserable. It’s already tough having concerns or an illness and then coming here just to be treated horribly. I visited here a couple months ago for something that should have been covered under my insurance. The receptionist was rude to everyone that she talked with including me. My visit was short and not a whole lot was really done by the medical staff. I later received bills totaling almost $500 after insurance was applied. First, I got a bill from MedExpress for roughly $200 when they barely did anything at all. Then I receive a nearly $300 bill from LabCorp with an entire panel of tests that were run, which was not necessary at all. I had no knowledge that some of these tests were being run. I definitely do not feel that they needed to be run based on all of the information provided to the medical staff. I’ve seen other practices in the past for the same thing and every time the proper tests were run and it was covered under my insurance as it should be. I opened a coding review at the beginning of January, and as of 1/29 nothing had been done. Almost an entire month went by and they did nothing about it. Finally, I called the location I visited and asked to speak with the center manager who was named Jen. Right off the bat, she had a bad attitude. She asked me to explain the situation then just started cutting me off asking for my account info. I gave her my info then explained the coding review and rather than her handling it kindly and calmly, just kept saying rudely “those are the tests we run” without giving any actual information. Then when I asked for more information, she said something like I’M NOT GONNA ARGUE WITH YOU ABOUT MEDICAL ADVICE RIGHT NOW. She was so defensive and unprofessional the entire conversation when I was just trying to get answers. This is not how any business should be run, especially a medical practice. Patients should not be charged hundreds of dollars for unnecessary tests and be left to deal with it just because the practice says that’s how they do things. At a minimum, they need to be transparent about what will be tested for, what treatments might be provided, etc. We have a right to know what is being done to us and what we’re paying for. Patients deserve so much better than this. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. I definitely did not feel I was in good hands here."
"So I made a appointment on line as to not sit and wait in the waiting area with possibly others that may be sick with cold or flu and lesson the chance of get sick. On arrival the receptionist was kind, fast, friendly and efficient happy I didn't wait for a Doctors office visit. Was in and out in a reasonable amount of time. And want next door for my prescription which was ready when I walk in. Overall a good experience. Making the appointment is the key to getting in and out quickly."
"I waited almost 3 hrs as a walk-in patient. There were no people in the front office, in fact lights were even off. There was a phone # to call. I did. I waited and kept getting passed over by those who had appointments. I called the # again and asked what was going on. They told me the would call the back office and let them know. Still nothing. Then a triage nurse came out and said we all should have an appt. There were 3 or 4 of us who didn't. Evidently when we called we were supposed to be told when we might be seen. I was not. I called a 3rd time and was called in while on the phone. I thought that Med Express catered to walk-ins. A nurse said they take walk-ins from 8-10am. Then appts take priority. How is anyone supposed to know this??? Very poor communication for people who can barely get there because they're sick!! I will say the nurse and physician were exceptional. They apologized profusely even though it wasn't their fault, and provided excellent care."
"Was very disappointed with the check-in process. I scheduled my appointment and gave all my information online. Once I got to Brentwood Med-Express, not feeling well. No receptionist, had to call a number on the window. Once connected, they asked all these personal questions, same questions as registering online. No privacy in telling them, about myself and asking for my credit card number in a busy waiting room. I told the person on the other end that I didn’t feel comfortable at all, but she didn’t seem to care. I thought scheduling an appointment online would be easier and quicker. Appointment was at 3:30 and I wasn’t seen till after 4:00. Being on the phone for 20 minutes. I will not be going back anymore. But I will say: the person who saw me in the back (Linda Shearer) was very thorough and understanding about my illness. Thank you Linda. Too bad that I had a bad experience at registering I will not be going there anymore."
"While visiting my college student she was not feeling well and needed to be seen on a weekend. The staff was very friendly, professional and empathetic. I made an appointment online and we were in/out in an hour. The physician was knowledgeable, friendly and very respectful. The intake nurse was polite, interested in the information we were providing and caring. When we had difficulty getting the prescribed prescriptions at the pharmacy we requested the staff was very responsive and willing to help. They even called back to explain what the problem was and let us know that the prescription was now available. If I find myself or a family member in need of medical care while in the Pittsburgh area I would return to this provider and I would recommend this facility to anyone else in need of medical care."
