"I recently lived at this apartment complex, and while the exterior gives off a luxurious vibe, my experience was far from satisfactory. Several issues marred my stay: Maintenance Problems: The call boxes, security locks, and garage doors were frequently malfunctioning, posing security concerns. Pest Issues: There were persistent rodent problems throughout the property, which impacted the overall living environment. Security Concerns: Squatters on the premises were a known issue, and despite bringing it to the attention of the Office Manager, no action was taken. Unprofessional Staff: Unfortunately, I encountered rude and unprofessional behavior from both maintenance and office staff. Additionally, there were instances of homophobic behavior, creating an uncomfortable living atmosphere. Infrastructure and Cleanliness: Thin walls made for a less-than-ideal living situation, and the presence of dog poop in hallways and common areas was a recurring problem. Management Issues: The frequent turnover of office staff is concerning, and the fire alarms consistently going off added to the overall frustration. I strongly urge the management company to conduct a thorough audit of the property's operations and consider significant renovations to improve the living conditions for all residents. Prospective tenants, please explore alternative housing options before committing to this property."
"Do not fall for the facade , Rents are in line with areas with more amenities and less headaches . Property looks well kept until you move in .. Gates constantly broken.. No call box to buzz in your guests, do not get me started about that , they lie all the time , Claimed they were getting call boxes last year, that never happened . Charging $20 for visitor parking, which is sick I have seen other complexes charge but not $20 like stop trying to gauge your tenants, Defiantly should be free considering you have to go through hell to let them into the garage. And provide real amenities not just a pool and that gym where most of the equipment is broken , and has been broken way before I ever moved here. Trash rooms are disgusting , they have never cleaned them , Pressure washing them would not hurt ... The residents drop trash in the garage , they walk their dogs in the garage allowing them to use the bathroom in the hallways and the garage area. Rental office does nothing to try to combat this , but will attempt to fine you for placing your trash outside to early. Trash removal is 7 days a week , unfortunately there are no standards to anything that they do . I have had Valet Trash for the last 7 years , lets just say this last year has been less they stellar , No trash cans available at move in . I am pretty sure that the company they are using are just some random people who pitched their services. Save your time and money look any where but here..."
"Giant rats everywhere on the first and second floor. All in the courtyard and dumpsters. They claim they take pest control seriously but I saw 10 rats all in one night driving up to my parking garage spot. I’ve never seen so many rats before in my life!!!! Trash in the hallways and garbage rooms, which is terrible since it’s so walking distant close to the heart of Laurel Town center and beautiful lake. Management is terrible."
"Guest service and hospitality is non-existent. They are towing all cars except for the cars that actually need to be towed. I have seen many abandoned vehicles in the garage but they go after resident’s vehicles instead. Get a parking pass if you have a rental! Have never had any problems with towing on my floor until now."
"After reading so many horrible reviews about this place I was Very apprehensive about moving in. When I say Apprehensive I meant it! I knew that I loved the lay-out of the apartment but, the reviews were frightening. I moved in Feb 2023 and I must say that I have not experienced any of the things that many have said. The staff have been very professional with me and upon receiving the keys to my new place all appliances, counter tops and bath area were brand new. I love the size of my place (Patterson). It is spacious and the closet in the loft area is HUGE! Quick feedback, there are some hidden monthly fees that are not discussed when accepting your keys. Service fee from the water company, pest control etc. It doesn't amount to a lot of money but, these things should be discussed up front. My leasing representative has been very helpful. His name is Isaiah and I appreciate all of his assistance. I have yet to see a rodent of any type within my apartment or bugs. There is a pest control company that comes weekly. The parking garage can be a bit crazy since people won't slow down and respect the outgoing or incoming vehicles. That part needs to be addressed. There are several police that live through-out the complex and their sedans are noticed on a regular basis. The mailboxes in the apartments need to be replaced but, that's a small problem considering some of the complaints that had me afraid to move forward with living here. I'm sure that unless you own your housing you will always experience some sort of issues that must be fixed. The same applies when you are renting. If the request are not met then it's up to the tenant to follow-up. I am a stickler of no pest in my home and I will loose it if I see a rat. Yes, please don't allow old reviews to hinder your consideration of living at Emerson at Cherry Lane. I don't make this post because I'm looking for anything but, I am posting it because as like you, I too was afraid of what I signed up for. I'm actually comfortable and my bldg is very quiet. Sometimes you have to walk in Faith."
