"I call them the AAA Team: Ashley, Alisha, and Aaron! I’ve communicated with all of them over the last week, and they were very helpful. Special thanks to Aaron for resolving my heating issue. This Team is excellent."
"Aaron serviced my fan needs immediately upon request and explained the turning maneuvers that I had always heard about with ceiling fans but never understood until now. Aaron is a thorough and knowledgeable handyman who clearly takes pride in his work and is always friendly and pleasant. Thank you Aaron!"
"Aaron is great. He handled my maintenance request quickly and efficiently. Give that man a raise as soon as possible. Hands down one of the better employees that has worked in this complex. Management still isn't very good (especially with communication), nor is the complex handicap accessible (excluding some handicap parking spaces). That being said -- Aaron is reliable, hardworking, and deserves more recognition for his efforts."
"My Family and I have been here for about 3 years and our experience has been average for the most part. The changing of staff and maintenance teams. The 3 stars are for the overall experience but todays service was 5 stars! I will say I have noticed the young man Aaron that has been on staff really strives to complete his task with excellence and he is really respectful and truthful, I was truly pleased with his service today as he was multitasking between the sink, stove, blinds, AC unit… and he got it all done and cleaned up behind himself. My family and I really appreciated his effort. It was a blessing to get great service and have great conversation.. GOD bless that young man!!"
"I moved in at the end of August 2019, moved out June 1st 2021. I'll start at the beginning and go from there. So we were impressed with the unit we were shown. It was a 3rd floor unit, stainless steel appliances, vaulted ceilings, fireplace - lovely. Our first hiccup came during the application process when several of our documents were misplaced; the person overseeing our application process was replaced halfway through and left no notes or messages for the person replacing him. Stressful, but we rolled with it and were ready for move-in day. Unfortunately, Gateway was not. We were scheduled to move in two days after we signed the lease and when we showed up, they were still installing carpeting. Granted, they comped us the 2 days, but when we got inside? No stainless steel appliances or vaulted ceilings, no fireplace. The mirror in one of the bathrooms was so old and worn that it was covered in gritty brown/black spots, and we were promised a replacement had been ordered and it would be replaced within 2 weeks. It never was - after several requests to have it replaced, we gave up. We noticed the first few weeks something was going on with the electric. Our bill hit almost $300 in one month, which ultimately turned out to be the water heater. Lourita, who worked in the office at the time, told us that we would be reimbursed after providing the bills from BGE from before and after the replacement, proving it was the heater. We submitted everything and followed up several times; nothing ever came of it. The apartment itself was very clean, and management was very good about preventative pest control. The grounds, however, left much to be desired. Dumpsters constantly overflowing, and dog owners just letting their dogs go everywhere without cleaning up after them like responsible pet owners. Your shoes aren't safe on the grass, sidewalks, or parking lot. Noise pollution: our unit was mostly pretty quiet. There was the occasional loud car out in the parking lot, but they're few and far between, and most people keep to themselves and live quietly, at least until the pandemic hit and the kids needed to stay home. Then the family above us started to sound like an avalanche coming through our ceiling at all hours, and management was no help. On parking: You get an assigned spot, and then there are blank spots. Now, you'd assume having an assigned spot would mean you could expect to find it empty when you get home, but no. People don't care that your spot is yours, they just see an open spot near the building and they take it. Get the towing number from management when you sign your lease. Ah, management! From what little I saw of them, they seemed nice enough. When they were there. But you never really know when that will be, because the hours on the door seem more like a suggestion rather than a set schedule, and you never know who you're going to see, because the company can't seem to keep people for more than a few months. But again, they seem nice. Very phone-shy though. I had to call for my security deposit as they went past the 45-day window to get it back to me, but I did get it back in full, so there's that. All in all, Gateway has great potential, but doesn't seem to understand how to utilize it. The floor plans are nice but should be as advertised, and ready on time. Maintenance requests take too long because they're grossly understaffed, as are the groundskeepers. Perhaps consider hiring more staff, adding some cameras/lighting, and upping your pet fees? I know this seems like a lot of negativity, but I don't hate Gateway. There are a lot of little things that irritated me over time that are easily fixable and would greatly improve it. But as for the positive? Honestly, there's not much, I'm mostly ambivalent. You probably won't hate it either, and the location is very convenient, situated within 10-15 minutes of just about every amenity you would need. But don't count on loving it, either. As my husband put it "The best thing I can say about Gateway is that it wasn't -bad-.""
