"Atmosphere was great, the service was speedy and the food was delicious! We ordered the Tan Tan Men and the Miso lunch specials with the Tori Kara-Age & Pork Gyoza sides. The ramen was packed with flavor and the noodles tasted heavenly, especially on a cold day. We left satisfied and will recommend Zao to all of our family and friends!"
"I’m obsessed with their karaaage aka fried chicken. The dark meat chicken is so darn tender and flavorful. I get it as an appetizer every time. Another thing I love is they often serve limited-edition ramen bowls that are not on the menu. They are usually super unique and can’t be easily found anywhere else. Highly recommend to any food adventurers!"
"This ramen restaurant has the BEST vegan ramen I've eaten on the east coast hands down! You know the ramen place is legit when you can order from a tablet and your bowl comes PILED with veggies. The broth was super flavorful, fhe noodles were the absolute perfect texture, and the toppings were reasonably priced and generously portioned. I was so surprised by how good the taste was I stole my husband's kaedama (extra noodle) order! 10/10 will absolutely eat again!"
"I'm really loving this place. They have a wide array of ramen offerings as is. But what takes it to the next level are all of the specials they have on the weekends emulating and recreating legendary bowls from Japan. They also make their noodles in house. It's an hour drive but I'll always be excited when I'm in the area to pop by. Keep it up! Pictured are 2 special limited bowls - spicy red miso and iekie style. The pork in the miso ramen was out of this world."
"What service? lol. When I went for dinner, you order right at the entrance at their stalls, and then you seat yourself. The restaurant looked like it was being run by 2 people - one person bringing orders to people and the other one in the kitchen. The person bringing orders to people just stayed at the kitchen and did not work the front of house. Everything here is self-serve. The ramen I got was a special tonkatsu ramen that was very good. The noodles I think are hand-made. They aren't the best I've had, but I can tell they are hand-made. The noodles almost have too much bounce to them that the broth bounces off it lol. I do wanna go again to try their signature stamina ramen with a chicken broth, so I'll be back."
