"I’ve been playing fxa soccer for about 18 months now and I love it. It feels like some of the reviews from people complaining about refs are coming from trouble makers. I prefer fxa to some of the other leagues because in part they are quick to remove players that are just out to hurt others. Personally I love playing soccer and want to have fun at a competitive level but in other leagues you get some wild hot heads. Fxa is quick to identify these types of people and get them out if they cause problems which creates a more safe, fun and competitive environment for those of us that truly love playing the beautiful game."
"Very organized league and that’s why it’s expanding and I like the way the league is taking actions against bad behavior from players. It help keep the league clean, fun and safe for us as players. Some soccer referees need some training on how to manage the game, but the majority of the incidents are players faults and bad attitudes. We pay to play but that doesn’t give us the right to disrespect referees"
"Terrible terrible organization. I do not recommend anyone to play soccer for the org. They claim that the referees are very experienced and knowledgeable but that is quite different when it comes to the actual game. I have had maybe 3 good refs in the last 3 seasons I have played. We had one game where the referee reffed the entire game with airpods in talking to someone on the phone. There was one occasion where I got punched in the mouth by the opposing team and the referee threatened to give me a red and lie to the org if I reported it. A little later we found out that he was friends with the other team. This league is terrible, too big, and all they care about is money. I wouldn't even ref for the league."
"This league banned me for life for an altercation with the referee, without even listening to my side of the story. They made this decision based on what the referee told them, completely biased and one sided. Sure, things got heated, but that is because of the horrible calls made by the referee. All he did was yell and demand authority throughout the game. I told him he was responsible for controlling the atmosphere of the game and ended up giving me a yellow card. I applauded at this horrendous call and he gave me a red card. He proceeded to give me another red card for calling him out on his lack of knowledge, experience, and management of the game. This infuriated me, so I walked up to him and barely bumped him with my chest. This “physical contact” banned me from the league FOREVER. We play this game because we all love the adrenaline, the camaraderie, and the competition. We are all passionate and sometime things can get heated, it is the officiating team’s responsibility to calm things down, not make them worse. The game should never be about the referee and their feelings, it’s about the players having fun and being safe, and they have failed to do either of them. FXA, you can ban me from your league, I’ll take responsibility for my actions, but you need to hold the referee accountable as well. You need to prevent him from ruining other teams’ experience as well. All your comments regarding the horrible officiating is that “they're CSSF certified”, this is meaningless when they lack self control and discipline. I encourage you to come out to one of the games he officiates and experience his incompetence for yourselves."
"FXA has been a fantastic way to stay in shape, be competitive and meet friends. I moved here in 2019 and joined FXA to move around and make some friends. Since that time, I have made lifelong friends that went from meeting at games to going on trips, and spending holidays and other activities together. From being a Free Agent Football Team to a solidified team with multiple championships. It shows how FXA can bring together sports and people. Can’t wait to get back out there!"
