"The mental health system at this place has failed me....miserably. Every other service provided by the VA is spectacular. I would just seriously like to know why there is just such a major issue with the Doctors and staff at the Pittsburgh VA behavioral health. After the 6th time they failed me...I decided I just may finally do something about this."
"Once you are here, the staff is kind and caring. Appointments are quick, and the care is adequate. Transportation is the main issue. If you schedule a pick up to get there, no problem, but getting home. RIDICULOUS Today, the average wait for a transport home once your appointment was over was at least 2 hours. Some were approaching 3 and 4. This is UNACCEPTABLE, and. Better solution needs found."
"I wouldn’t even give a star but it makes you. This VA is the worst in our travel area. Get sent 3 1/2 hours one way for an neurosurgeon appointment, only to be asked why are you even here? the resident was too busy worrying about who was messaging him, he looked stoned and he had very very very bad hygiene (body odor). We were with him less 3 minutes and sent on our way. I will be making sure my husband gets a second opinion outside the VA. This will also be taken up with patient advocate at my local VA. This is the second time we have had a problem with the Doctors/Residents. DONALD KOENIG needs to get with his drs and figure out the issue before they kill someone."
"Combat veteran? Peacetime veteran? Government employee? Contracted employee? Relative visitor of a veteran? What other types of people venture here? University students, graduates and post graduate students? Dynamic location. Key medical resource for tristate area veterans care. Garage is free...show your ID to find a parking spot. Spots have red and green indicator lights to tell you from afar if the parking spot is taken (red light) or it is free (green light). Parking is tight and there are select drivers that choose to park in the floor level T intersections to pick up an outgoing patient. Two way traffic up and down. Got a "smart" phone? See the helpful posters that tell you how to "check in". If you know where you are going once inside, bypass the front desk admin personnel and report straight to the clinic. Per deim on your local travel? Good luck getting reimbursed on that ....those travel clerk windows are normally closed for business. Anyhow, good luck and drive on!"
"God bless our Veterans!! (SALUTE) My friend was at the VA picking someone up. He said that I didn't have to go in if I didn't want to because it's cold. Omg I'm so grateful that he offered to let me go with him, that I would have walked further to enter. He couldn't believe my excitement, because it is a hospital after all. However, even the cafeteria was exciting!! I said "It's not often that I'll have the opportunity to walk with so many Heroes and not know who they were!!" It was really awesome, briefly seeing how caring, effective and efficient the staff was towards our Veterans. It's amazing to see how beautiful and thoughtfully made the building was from the inside. Some people noticed that I must have been a visitor because I kept looking up. Others knew that look on my face was different.. One man told me how proud he was to be there also. Lol he made my day."
