"I spent most of my time at Volkwein's when they were on the North Side. It looks as if their transition to the new site hasn't lost any of things that I liked about them. The staff is helpful and ready to assist you. I'm looking forward to my next trip there."

"I dropped off a bass clarinet for repair on April 1 and they said it would be 8-10 weeks. I hadn't heard back, so I called on July 20 and they said it would be ready "next week" and they would call me. I never heard back, so I called again on August 2 and they said it would be ready "next week" and they would call me. I never heard back, so I called on August 25 and they said it would be ready "next Thursday". I told them to forget it, and I picked it up this morning. It hadn't been touched at all, and they NEVER reached out to me to explain that it would be delayed or why. The repair tech gave me lots of excuses when I picked it up - busy schedule, they're down one person, etc. - but it's unacceptable to take someone's instrument if you don't even attempt to do the work. They didn't apologize for the inconvenience. I was without my instrument for 5 months and I'm right back where I started. I strongly suggest avoiding their repair department - poor communication, poor service, and complete disregard for their customers."

"I've always loved this store when I lived in the area. Very good selection of music, albeit the selection is waning. You can still order anything from them. You just may need to wait for delivery. The staff is very knowledgeable and if one doesn't have the answer, someone else in the shop can step in and help. The staff was even helpful to me when I don't live in PA anymore and gave me all the info to shop online with them."

"I went for a instrument try out for my daughter.. The staff was very respectful and helpful. One of staf member who helped my daughter to try out the instruments did that well. He taught how to play the flute and saxophone like a teacher. He answered all the questions we had and he was very friendly to my daughter too. The price is reasonable and hope the service will also be good. Recommending for any kind of music needs."

"One of the best musical instruments stores I've come across. They've everything you can ask for or ever need for any instruments you might play or fancy playing. If you are lucky, you might just get a good deal. Their rent to own program is what I liked best. It's cheap and affordable for those who want to try out before buying. The staff are very polite and ready to help out. I highly recommend giving this place a look before going anywhere else. You might want to check the cost of the accessories online before buying it here though."
