"It was clean and quiet. Gentleman at the counter was nice. Those are the nice things. I ordered kung pao chicken and got peanuts in sauce instead. Flavor was forbidden from this dish as was the spice. I dont know what meal other people got, but never will i ever send even the greatest of my enemies to eat here. they deserve better. Perhaps this could be a one off or simply the fact that this is what they serve and what their patrons like. I myself like edible food, not picky just know what I want and know what good food is."
"I visit this restaurant when I have my six-month dental checkups. The food is excellent, the restaurant very clean and the service great."
"Do they even have a Chinese chef? Food was swimming in oil, not sauce. Awfully bland . Nothing like the food we bought here 10-15 years ago. This is some vague preparations that they pass off for Chinese food. Never again. Terrible."
"First time ordering from this restaurant and I’m sad I didn’t find them before as it was so good. General sos was the best I’ve ever had, real pieces of chicken and not just breading and mystery meat inside. The sauce was SOO good and homemade. Lo mein was delicious as was the chicken and broccoli. I picked up but saw they have free delivery. Very nice and inside seemed very clean. 100% recommend to anyone looking for quick, delicious, real food."
"One of the first things that my family does when we move into a new area is to find the local Chinese takeout place. You've got to have the restaurant that you call in a pinch and know that you're going to get a lot of food for a pretty reasonable price. We're on the hunt for the best takeout restaurant in Vienna and Peking Express was our first stop in our journey. Overall, the service is the best that I've ever had at any takeout place...ever. The location is convenient but probably not somewhere that you'd go to eat. The food is decent, but probably nothing to write home about. The price is equitable to other takeout places in the area. Let me break down the highlights a bit: 1. As I said, I really enjoyed the service at Peking Express. The guy running the store when I went was very kind, thoughtful and easy to work with. More than that, he had a few regulars in the store who he knew by name and was chatting with. That was cool to me and a good reminder that unlike P.F. Changs, this place truly is local and a part of the community. 2. The food was decent. You come to expect a certain level of quality when it comes to takeout food and Peking Express definitely doesn't surprise. They offer standard Chinese fair and it tastes basically like the food you'd get at most other takeout places. For that reason, it doesn't really stand out to me. I wasn't repulsed, certainly, but I wasn't blown away either. It was just fine. 3. Price is a tough one for me because I'm notoriously frugal when it comes to spending. You typically expect takeout places to be on the cheaper end, but I was pretty surprised when I discovered that each meal costed over $11. I was so surprised that I started looking at other places to see if that was comparable or over-priced and, I admit, most other takeout places charge about the same (give or take a few cents). Maybe Chinese is just a little more expensive these days. All that said, you do get a decent amount of food for that price. We had leftovers which is, I believe, a must for any takeout place. For me, the combination of price and food ranks this as about average for me in the takeout world. We'd come back here in a pinch, but we'll probably be on the lookout for some additional options in the area to see if we can find a place to land."
