"WHERE DO I BEGIN......I had such a wonderful experience at the Residence Inn in Alexandria. Ms. Maria, Ms. Mimi and Mr. Thomas WAS UNMATCHED in their attention to detail and customers service. Ms. Maria was the highlight of my stay. She was so warm and welcoming upon my arrival and throughout my stay here. I CANNOT WAIT TO RETURN to visit again. I WOULD HIGHLY recommend this hotel for the CUSTOMER SERVICE, lodging and closeness to the downtown Alexandria and DC areas."
"I wish every Marriott would take a page out of this property’s playbook. The staff have been exceptionally helpful and friendly. As a Titanium Elite, I was greeted with a suite upgrade. The rooms are very nice. The location is very convenient. The only “weird” thing is that, because the property footprint is so small, you park behind the hotel when you check in and have to walk around to the front to get to the desk. Marie is an absolute gem. Came back a day later to edit: I forgot a nice sweater in the room. Thankfully I was local. I called the front desk and the associate told me that housekeeping had found it and set it aside; they had it waiting for me at the front desk when I showed up. Really grateful for great service."
"Not bad, but for the $$$ I'm paying I would expect: hot water in the evening, not just warm; more than 1 luggage cart for a hotel with 15 floors; toilet seat shouldn't be loose, I had to tighten it; Turkey sausages were overcooked both days we had breakfast. Scrambled eggs were a bit runny, and finally, coffee!!! No coffee after breakfast is done? Really??? Coffee should be available if not all day, at least through noon!!! I'll find another place next time!!!"
"I really like this place. It offers a lower cost alternative to staying in DC with easy access to the DC Metro rail and reasonably priced parking options across the street. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The lobby was clean and inviting. Only thing I would say is that parking at the hotel garage is $32 per night. You would be better off across the street for $8."
"To begin, I am a Marriott Titanium member and am just a few nights away from Ambassador. I’m still trying to figure out what exactly the perks are to this. I’ve never received an upgrade or any benefit to having this status. Most Marriott hotels don’t have a lounge and the ones here that do, I cannot get booked with because I usually stay for many nights. I was told by a coworker to switch to Hyatt as the benefits are much better. Just some advice for those of you on the Marriott points program. Regardless, the best part of this hotel is the staff. Marie was outstanding and was so accommodating. Everyone I dealt with there was extremely polite and friendly. Housekeeping was great and came at the times I requested. The rooms are average. Very dated and the shower curtain did not close fully so there was always water on the floor. The first room I was checked into smelled horribly like smoke. Marie was amazing and got me switched out right away. The internet is incredibly slow unless you pay for premium. Again, as someone with almost 100 nights at Marriott you would think we get premium internet for free. This is an extremely busy hotel. I stayed for 12 nights and over one of the weekends the place was filled with little kids staying for a tournament. The kids were literally running everywhere in the lobby for most of the day and part of the night. I was also working out in the gym one morning and a couple let their kids into the fitness space to run around and play. They didn’t interfere with my workout, I just thought it was strange. It was such nice weather, why not take them outside? The breakfast was hit or miss and most days I opted not to have it. There is a small cafe about two blocks away called Sprigs. They have great coffee and food. Overall this hotel is best for families and kids. Aside from the lobby, The floors and rooms overall were very quiet. The lobby also has a bar which is open nightly which is not typical at Residence Inns. So that’s a nice perk. As a business traveler, I would recommend the Marriott hotels in Crystal City. Again, I want to thank the staff for being amazing."
