"I stayed at the hotel over the holidays and the room was spacious and beautifully decorated. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to try out the spa, but we did eat at Harrimans twice - once for breakfast and once for room service. However, both experiences didn't turn out as expected. The food either had a problem or we received the wrong plate or missing items. Although the breakfast manager tried to make up for it, there were missing items again right after that. I was credited back for the incorrect dish but not the fee associated with it. To our surprise, two days later, my credit was charged for a random amount for unclear reasons. Although the facility was nice, I don't think the service met the standards that the hotel claims to have."

"We were so excited to stay at the Salamander Resort for the horse parade weekend but were extremely disappointed with our stay. While the property and hotel is beautiful, the service was terrible. I had to call the spa 5-6x to try and make a reservation and was never successful due to lack of response/follow-up. On Saturday morning I was looking forward to a relaxing breakfast in bed only to be super frustrated after TEN attempts to even reach room service and 45 mins wasted on the phone. We were told breakfast would take 60 minutes which then became 90 minutes delaying the start to our day. After the parade we partook in the “feast” and while the food was good, there were some odd nuances likes having to pay $9 for a non alcoholic drink like Coca Cola or tea but yet had free coffee. For a $60 ticket I would expect this to be included. Lastly we dined in the bar for dinner and had yet another poor experience. My food came out incorrect and my sisters food never came at all. Even after notifying the waiter of the missing dish they didn’t bring it out. For the cost per night, I expected only the best service and while I hoped this would be an annual tradition will be taking my family and friends to a different spot in the future."

"Beautiful facility in a country setting. The rooms are spacious and nicely appointed with comfortable bed with nice sheets. Drawer space is limited but it has 2 closets. Breakfast at the hotel is very well done with a large number of menu choices. Definitely stay for at least 1 dinner at Harrimans. The less formal restaurant has a layer cake dessert which is highly recommended Lots of activities. Horses, spa, hiking trails, tennis, archery, axe throwing and more If you want to use the spa, be sure to sign up in advance A short walk into town of Middleburg is worth doing. Local winery tours also Old inn and restaurant from 1728 worth visiting in town"

"Dinner at Harriman was incredible. Appetizers were by far the best part, absolutely fantastic. The best octopus I have ever eaten. Main course was delicious and cooked beautifully. Wine selection was excellent. Dessert was the only thing that left something to be desired. While it looked like art work, it just feel short a bit. Probably just because everything else was fantastic. Would definitely go again, and try some other dishes."
