Savemart Supermarket

"I visited this store yesterday for the first time. It has the better looking produce and meat at better prices compared to my local Safeway and HarrisTeeter. The rest of the packaged food and goods are the same price, no savings there. My issue with this store is that none of the items that were marked on the shelves as on sale rang up at the sale price at the register. They have handwritten sale signs on the shelves. I chose certain items because of their sale price. I did not catch the error until I returned home and checked my receipt. My takeaway from this experience is ...it's a great store for meat and produce with a strong selection in Hispanic food items. I probably will not do my "normal" shopping for other items here.. stick to my home grocery store. And, certainly, do not believe the sale signs or check the price that rings up in real time at the register. I was busy bagging my own groceries and did not catch the issue until I got home. It was 3 items that did not ring up at the marked sale price... not just 1 random error. It cost me approx an extra $10, not enough to go back to the store, but enough to be irritating."

"The bakery here is amazing. I remember this supermarket back when it was a Shoppers and I was not expecting the Hispanic market we walked into, but I loved it. The variety of things available was incredible. The bakery’s goods were so varied and different and the prices were fantastic. I wish I lived closer because I would absolutely shop here more regularly if I did!"

"Heard about this new Hispanic supermarket. It's a very large and clean store. It has a very extensive from all parts of Latin America. It brought back memories when I would visit my grandma in Costa Rica. They have a large meat selection including goat, rabbit and every part of animal ( tongue, heart, tripe etc). The bakery though in the store is separate, you pay at the bakery. One issue is many items did not have a price. Overall it's a nice store, however the prices could hurt them, discouraging customer from shopping for regular groceries. Meat products were price more in line with average supermarkets. I hope they can get more in line with area grocery stores."
