"I have been patronizing this store for almost 5 years. I complained about the Ogbono they are selling which has been tasting like soap. They continue to stock up ogbono that is extremely bad and taste like soap!! every time I purchase ogbono from here, it’s spoilt! And you can’t find out until you cook it. I’ve wasted money just from finding out that what I purchased was bad upon cooking along with meat produce I purchase from the store. I reported it to the owner more than once and she said oh you’re the only person complaining. If I’m the only person complaining, you should be addressing that one complaint immediately because this is food people are consuming and you can be sued for food poisoning. Yesterday I purchased Ogbono and other meat produce such as 3 packs of goat meat. Before purchasing, I specifically asked the owner(woman) if this was a good Ogbono, she responded,oh it’s very good brand, no problem with this one. On getting home and cooking it today, it did not draw, tasted soapy and spoilt. I contacted the owner again today and she had the nerve to tell me she has to contact her supplier to report it. What has that got to do with me ? I requested for refund or store credits, she declined and said she wants to speak to the supplier. If anything happens to me, Will I be suing the supplier or your business? !!! I purchased rotten foods from you and not your supplier. I will be filing a complaint with the dept of health and like I stated over the phone, I will be contacting my bank for the refunds! Totally disappointed at the attitude as this is the first time I am requesting a refund even after multiple reports of the poisonous foodstuff! They have just lost a customer! If you can find another store, y’all better do that!"
"Let’s be honest all the good reviews you all see are NOT the customers. They are the worker or friend of the workers. I called to ask if they had Baby food (CERELAC) and I was told they had it I proceeded to ask for the price and the response was they don’t give prices over the phone I don’t recommend going to this store the price could be too high and when you get there you can’t afford it or it’s not in your budget I recommend going to another African store."
"The store was suppose to open at 10am and didn’t open until 10:20. There were 2 other customers waiting for the store to open. I asked if I was getting a discount for wait and not opening to store the time it was suppose to be open. She began to yell at me saying they live far and I don’t know what they went through to get there. I told them I understood and a simple apology would do. The husband and the wife (owners) ganged up on me in a saying it’s only in America that we have such high expectations etc. I just want us to keep in mind that we are in America and NOT Nigeria. There is lack of professionalism and respect for the customer. The items in the store are over priced. I would not recommend going to this store."
"I found all the African food items I needed. Great service. The team was very friendly."
"Good stuff. It was empty at time of visit and clerk seemed annoyed to answer questions about prices because she was on her phone. Africans all the way, Kings and Queens each, in their own right. #mypeople Super excited about all this bread though."
