"Very nice historic hotel. The room was clean and we enjoyed the pub in the basement. It's an easy walk to town and the local attractions. The only recommendation I have is that if you are in bed early, ask for the upper floor or the carriage house. We were directly above the pub entrance and it was loud until the pub closed at 11pm . Overall a great experience and we would stay again."
"During my recent stay at a historic hotel in Gettysburg, PA, I found myself transported to a bygone era, surrounded by the charm of yesteryear. The staff's warm welcome made me feel like a valued guest from the moment I arrived. The rooms, though imbued with historical character, were impeccably clean and well-maintained, seamlessly blending the allure of the past with modern comforts. What truly set this hotel apart was its proximity to Gettysburg's historic sites. Being in such close proximity of such iconic landmarks enhanced the overall experience, allowing for convenient exploration of the town's rich history. The hotel itself seemed to echo the stories of the past, providing a unique and immersive environment for history enthusiasts. Throughout my stay, the staff's attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction shone through. Whether it was a recommendation for a local eatery or providing insights into the historical significance of the area, their enthusiasm and knowledge were evident. If you're seeking a blend of history, comfort, and excellent service, this establishment in Gettysburg is sure to leave a lasting impression."
"Location is the key for this place. Parking is free, and plentiful. The downtown area of Gettysburg starts on the next block. You could even walk to the spot in the National Cemetery where Lincoln gave his Gettysburg Address were you so inclined. The space was formerly a school. I posted a bunch of photos. The building and room are beautiful. Scones are served at 3pm, and they are good. The bed seemed like it was from another era, when stiff was important. Plenty of hot water was available in the shower, but you need to move around to get wet - the shower head is old and not up to the task. Speaking of not up to the task, the climate controls in the room do not function as hoped. The room was a sauna because the heat was on in the building. The only way to make the room tolerable was to open the windows, using the window sticks, and to get a big fan from the front desk. That finally did it. The staff is nice, but we did have an issue with the billing. It was resolved quickly enough, but should not have happened. The bottom floor has the bar and restaurant. Would I stay here again? Probably."
"I had the pleasure of staying here for the weekend. I was definitely not disappointed. The rooms were nice and big accompanied with a cozy bed and has a very nice bathroom which it looks like the shower has been updated, not 100% sure though. The hotel itself is super cool, and still has that old timey smell that I love. The staff were lovely, and very attentive. I frequented the pub a few times and I loved the vibes I was getting, just had a cozy feel to it. The gentleman behind the bar, sorry I cannot remember your name omg. He makes really good drinks and can keep the convos flowin. The location is nice, about 3 min drive, and a 8 min walk to downtown. Totally recommend staying here!"
"My husband and I stayed here in July. It was the BEST experience we have ever had at a hotel. The staff is amazing. They did their very best to accommodate me with my celiac disease. They would heat my breakfast and lunch for me. They gave us all kinds of advise on things to do. They treated us like we were life long friends. The room was beautiful! I hope one day we can come back because these amazing people helped us have a very memorable vacation. Thank you for everything!!"
