"If you're looking for a place to stay near Romney, WV, and you NEED a cookie-cutter chain, you could go a couple miles further east to the South Branch Inn. But for MY money the Koolwink is place to be, if only because it's so delightfully RETRO. I'm talking old-school roadside motel. But don't be fooled: This place has been lovingly maintained. It's very clean, service is very good, and it's closer to town."

"Prepare yourself for a 60's retro trip. From the bright colors to the amenities this motel takes you back. Very quiet when we were there. Very reasonably priced. Located in historic Romney West Virginia don't miss the indian mound cemetery...having the oldest undisturbed native American mound in the country."

"Great retro motel! Rooms are decorated in retro furniture and accessories. Rooms are very clean. Entire property is kept very clean. Almost every painted surface looked like it was just painted, that is how well kept the property is maintained. Host was very friendly and helpful. My only thing was that the bed was very firm, but that is a personal choice, so not really a complaint. That being said, I slept soundly during my stay."

"This is a rare jewel. It takes you back to the 1950s/60s, but you feel you are the very first occupants. This indeed is the cleanest and best maintained motel we have stayed in…. The staff there is outstanding. The grounds were well kept. Thanks for a very comfortable stay."
