"They do a good job, but suck at customer service and don't warn you about how much additional an upcharge is going to be for a variation of service. I was under the impression that adding glitter on nails would be an additional $5 or $10 at the most... was surprised to see an upcharge of $15 for something so basic. I would not recommend them unless you don't care about being overcharged."
"This salon is a little more expensive than some I've been to but also a little more classy. I've been here for pedicures in the past. Today I thought i needed a new set of acrylics but they were honest and told me I only needed a fill. I was used to having the nails built up when i get a fill but he mostly just dremmled and filed. I guess maybe they do it differently here. I came here because i wanted the nails done right because for we have a wedding to go to and J&L has a good reputation. They look beautiful! I love the design that the nail artist painted to match the dress im going to wear."
"I’m sad to say this but I’ve been coming here for 2 years and even got multiple people switch salons for here. The last two times I’ve gotten my nails done here have been disappointing. First time was when I had a spray tan & asked to avoid getting too much alcohol on my skin. This was also the set of nails for my wedding.. I had a very rude woman yell at me for asking for a different option of soaking my nails. She then gave up and gave me over to someone else. Ruined my whole nail appointment wedding experience with my friends. The second time was the previous time I went. I usually get Mary but I had someone different. Mary is THE BEST! He was good but this was the first time my dip nails have chipped within a week of getting them. They used to last 3-4! I’ll be switching salons. I’m assuming this is due to change in management..I’ve been a loyal customer and I am sadly disappointed."
"I came here for the first time today. The woman that did my gel pedicure was great, I’m pretty sure it was Holly. The one who did my nails was not. The gel I got on my finger nails are so uneven. I asked for square nails, she gave me round. She didn’t even fix my nail length either to match. Also convinced me to get a design which was not worth getting. $83 for gel manicure and pedicure I don’t believe is worth it here. Very disappointed especially my nails are suppose to be for my bachelorette. I will not be going my back."
"J&L was recommended to me via a coworker. The first 3 times I went were great experiences. They have a great selection of colors to choose from to the point where you start to become overwhelmed. So go in with an idea in mind. However, my last and only visit there was not okay. My nail tech made some racist remarks while telling a story. I told her that I don't think that her remarks were appropriate, being that I am of the race she was describing. Then she continued to talk down about my race and my skin tone to the point where I wanted to get up and leave. I have never had an experience like this before at a nail salon. The whole reason for me getting my nails and other services done is a way for me to relax and pamper myself. I felt disrespected an unwanted. Especially when I made my discomfort known. Also, to add insult to injury, I hated the way my nails came out. Uneven, base too dark, ("bc my skin is dark, so I need this base, only looks good on black skin. Lighter colors are for white girls only" verbatim), paint on my hands, polish was thick, shaping was off. Very disheartening, being that my initial experiences were great."
