MEETING DR. DUCIC: Dr. Ducic was kind & listened carefully without interrupting while taking my history. He described realistic expectations for possible outcome. I was referred to Dr. Ducic for tarsal tunnel syndrome & lower leg neuropathy (both legs) by National Foot & Ankle. In the past, myriad previous doctors I consulted over the decades (rheumatologists, orthopedists, physiatrist, physical therapists, etc) provided no relief & never suggested consulting a nerve surgeon until then.. My overall health suffered as I couldn't walk/bear weight correctly or exercise as I should. 1st SURGERY: Lower right leg/foot: *The outcome was amazing.* For the first time in decades I was able to put full weight bearing on my right foot w/out feeling as though I had a straight razor going through my heel. For years I had to stand on my left foot, both at work & in my personal life. In photos over the years, including my wedding photos, I had my right leg lifted off the ground because it hurt too much to put it down (think of a flamingo). I stopped wearing skirts & dresses. Immediately after surgery Dr. Ducic had me bear weight on my foot. As soon as the nerve block from surgery wore off, I realized all the pain was GONE. 2nd SURGERY: Lower left leg/foot: For the peripheral neuropathy, the left lower leg/foot were losing feeling altogether. He's a phenomenal plastic surgeon on top of his other skills. 3rd SURGERY: For occipital nerve migraines which have plagued me for decades & were debilitating to the point that I almost couldn't work. The migraines were primarily right side dominant but also affected by left side, so bilateral nerve decompression was performed. The surgery was 3 hours long & provided the relief I never thought possible. DAY OF EACH SURGERY: Before being wheeled back into the operating room, Dr. Ducic came in & spoke kind, encouraging, positive words that relieved pre-op jitters. He called the night of my surgery to check on me & again the following morning. He even provided his cell phone number to us. OVERALL: I've never met a doctor who was more caring about his patients. He's very candid & forthright; I really appreciate that. He also has wonderful sense of humor. People fly in from across the US & from other countries. He's performed surgeries for decades, giving thousands of patients relief. His staff, office manager Inga and nurse Melanie, are just as caring and supportive as he is. They try and get you in as quickly as possible. By the way, there is free parking out front. Ambulatory surgical center: located just 50 ft from his office on the same floor. The staff called the morning after surgery to check on me & review my postop care. I've had each of my surgeries there & the care is a 10/10. It is a clean, calming environment w/kind, professional, friendly staff. They are diligent in ensuring your safety & reviewing all the check points prior to beginning surgery. It was better than any hospital I've ever been in. There is a very nice waiting room for family & friends or whoever is accompanying you."
