Gastroenterology Practice at GBMC

"I just canceled and rescheduled my appt and it was very smooth. I waited on hold for a bit, but they are busy. There is one person who coordinates it all - Marrissa - and she was a pleasure to work with. Customer Service is HARD. Show those folks some grace, it will go a long way"

"Been to this office twice. I had a pleasant experience the first time. However, after this last visit I will not return. I had an appointment scheduled for 8am. However, there was a huge accident that delayed me by 35 mins. I tried calling the office but their "phone hours" don't start until 8:30. I couldn't even leave a message. I was disconnected when I tried. No one even called me when they saw I was late. I get there and there's no one in the waiting room. The receptionist called Jill, the NP to ask if I could be seen despite me being late and of course the answer was no. They wouldn't be able to fit me in until June! No compassion from either of them about the situation. A waste of a 2hr drive. Time money and gas just wasted. The only reason I chose this office is because my PCP is with GBMC and she thought it would be more streamlined. Never again."

"Literally the worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor’s office. I went for a pre-procedure meeting. The nurse who called my name didn’t make eye contact. Then I was told to wait in the room for the nurse practitioner. And I did. For an hour. No one came to check on me, assure me that they’d be with me soon....nothing. When she did come in, she cut me off when I said I had been waiting for an hour. Finally, they told me the scheduler wasn’t in that day, gave me her card, and said to wait a few days and then call for an appointment. So I did that. No answer, no return call. So I called a few days later. No answer, no return call. I finally decided to go somewhere else. This office is clearly dysfunctional. It reminds me of how doctor’s offices used to be in the 80s and 90s. Totally NOT patient-centric."

"Avoid this practice. I read the reivews about the inability to get in touch with the scheduler, but decided to proceed as I love all my doctors at GBMC. But I have never had such an awful experience with a practice. I have been trying to get ahold of someone to reschedule my procedure for 3 weeks. I've left voicemails, messages with the front desk and no one returns any calls. The secretary's voicemail is now full, so there is no way to leave a message and get in contact with anyone. The NP I had for my first appt was an absolute delight. I haven't had any interaction with Dr. Whitehead, who was scheduled for my procedure, but her office staff is completely unresponsive. I will not trust an invasive medical procedure to a doctor's practice that is so unresponsive. It's a shame because all of my other experiences with GBMC have been wonderful."

"Dr Whitehead is probably a fine doctor however she cares nothing about customer service. That is evident by the way she manages her staff. No return phone calls, missed appointments with no calls or email. no coordination with other departments. No phone calls with the results of blood work. Nothing!!! I have never switched doctors before or left a review until now. In today's world where everyone has a say she should pay more attention."
